Okay, fair enough. Does it bother you that 80% of the black women in this thread have lighter skin and white features? The reason I ask is because for a long time there was an outcry that blacks were not presented in American culture as beautiful... and now, when this has changed somewhat, it seems that a majority of the black women being depicted and help up as the standard of beauty are fair skinned, white featured and not indicitive of a majority of blacks in this country. My ex fiancee used to bemoan to me that she was always called beautiful by the black and white society over her sister, because she had lighter features. Just my observation, and nothing more...
In many countries lighter skin is considered more beautiful...America is no different. The majority (mostly whites) prefer light Hispanics, light Blacks, light Indians, etc. Regardless, not all blacks are extremely dark, there are many African Americans with lighter skin in this thread, with black features. And, let's be honest. Hot chicks aren't indicative of the majority in any race. That's because they're hot!
I disagree with the bold. That's just my POV though, but I am 'black' so I think i've seen plenty of 'black' people. Even at family reunions there I see a lot lighter skinned ones. There are not a lot of 'Pure' africans in this country. I believe there is a study that represents that most african-americans (the ones born in this country) are mixed with something. Most of the women in this thread are a example of that. I mean of course not every 'black' woman looks like Beyonce, but not every 'white' woman looks like a supermodel either. As far as the whole lighter skinned fairer feature thing, yeah I see plenty of those...even in my own family. It's just that some people have a very different view as to what is black and what is not. For example as a 'black' male myself people always thought I was latin, even when I told them nope. They would just say something like "Well you have some latin in you then." It was always because of my hair. When I was little I never understood why everyone thought I had such 'Good' hair.
Lighten up, francis. I did look at more pics of her and she definitely has a lazy eye. Not a big deal because my wife has the same issue although with the chick you posted it seems like you notice it in every picture (which is not the same with my wife - only in some pictures). She's not bad looking but she looks a lot like Victoria Rowell, IMO and I feel that Rowell is more attractive. Just my opinion and we are all free to state what we think, you know?

I agree with this, and thats why Gabrielle Union had my first vote. Every time you see a celeb being referred as beautiful that is black, shes most likely always of lighter complexion. Every time you watch a music video (and I havent watched those in god knows when) the vixens are always of lighter complexion or hispanic. I have a good friend that is very dark and her skin is silky and flawless. No make up needed. I thought about posting a pic, but then I remembered how everyone likes to photoshop on here. I sometimes wish my skin was a little darker. It kills me though that an ugly light skinned chick will get more play than a beautiful dark skinned chick, plus or minus other physical features. Thats society though and it sucks. May be the reason why I love chocolate colored men, and the fact that they age so well. :grin: Just my observation, and nothing more....
