This was shot in Smithville, Houston, Matagorda, Bastrop and Waco. Finished filiming in 2008 and Malick spent two years editing it. Only movie I'm looking forward to seeing in 2011 <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/fi8o329-CwY?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/fi8o329-CwY?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
Looks pretty promising. Soundtrack on the trailer sounded great. Why is there only a cam version of the trailer?

That's a fake fan trailer made up of scenes from Thin Red Line. The real one is attached to Black Swan but for some reason it's not available online.
I don't get what the movie is about from that trailer. I looked over at IMDB and a lot of people are WORSHIPING this movie already... what's the big fuss about?
Father (Pitt) son (Penn) drama set in 1950's Texas and present day Houston. Plus, some stuff about the universe. ...and dinosaurs.
I love his films. Days of Heaven and Bandlands are ones he did that are a bit older but great. He also did the New World which was not bad and that war movie with Jim Caviezal and other stars that was good.
Umm so what? Some people on IMDB are saying this is a "once-in-a-lifetime" movie.. I don't see what they're seeing..
Terrence Malick. He comes out with a movie seemingly once a decade. There's always a ton of anticipation for his flicks.
Seriously, dude takes his time between projects! I thought both The New World and The Thin Red Line were beautiful looking films, but also awfully pretentious and ultimately not worth the hype. There were actually people saying that Thin Red Line was the better war movie (vs. Saving Private Ryan) when they were both out in theaters... absolutely laughable. That being said, I think Sean Penn is an amazing actor (Carlito's Way!?!?) and I will definitely give this a look. I imagine/anticipate it will be overwrought and pretentious, but I'll give it a try.
Watch it in 1080p!!!! <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/fLPe0fHuZsc?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/fLPe0fHuZsc?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
An artsy fartsy overdramatic movie. Good trailer but I don't like how it deceiving us into believing some enlightenment by putting in some cool cosmic space visual making it look more epic than it's going to be nothing but a boring growing up story.
Looks like the movie has the same style as thin red line, except even more abstract. I think I'll pass.. but wow, that guy really knows how to make trailers.
