Not a single Heat starter made a 3 pointer. That'd be alright back in 1985, but in today's NBA even with the guard-friendly play they're gonna have to hit some outside shots
That was me who said that about three weeks ago, and everyone thought I was crazy. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=5705855&postcount=365 The heat have beaten one good team so far this year, Orlando. The East has four good teams in Boston, Orlando, Chicago, and Atlanta. Miami will probably end up being the fifth or sixth best team in the East. But, the West has at least eight teams that are better than the Heat. It would be very difficult for the heat to make the playoffs in the West. The Heat are very lucky to be in the East.
Heat 97 Pistons 72 Nice 25 pt beatdown. I think after the last win, theyre really learning how to play together more. Still need a few more months, maybe the whole season til they really start to jell. But they are showing more and more flashes of dominance.
Not meant to start up a fight between Heat fans, but why do you think the Celtics in their first year of the big 3 jelled greatly within the first few games. Better coaching? Less need for the ball?
They werent of this magnitude. Youre taking the best player in the game and arguably another top 3 player in Wade and another top 10 player in bosh and trying to figure out how to play when theyre all used to dominating the ball. It will take a lot more time. Also there is a HUGE lack of role players on the heat, its basically three against 15 every night. They had to make cap room to sign all three stars so they only had enough money leftover to sign the nba retirement community.
One, Ainge and the Celtics brought together their Big Three because they felt these stars complemented one another's game, and not simply because they were most talented. It turned out Ainge was right. Two, Boston had the better role players - Rondo and Perkins - to go with their big three in the starting lineup. Especially, they had a young PG on the cusp of becoming a star himself. Three, IIRC Boston did not have the injury issues that Miami has had to endure (Wade, Miller, and now Haslem). And finally, the Kevin Garnett factor. The guy can be a douche, but he came to Boston hungry for a ring and completely energized the entire team and fanbase from the get go. I still remember watching on TV the first game of the Celtics that first year. It was in Boston against Washington, Garnett was literally frothing at the mouth the whole game, and the energy of the home crowd was unbelievable. The Wizards did not have a chance.
Pretty Quiet in here, since the Heat have been wining. Imangine if the Heat lost 4 games in a row, instead of the Lakers. This place would blow up... In other news, it looks like Chalmers is playing pretty well latley, hopefully he can help them out, and Bosh is really come into his own over the last 7-8 games. Notice there are not any Chris Bosh sucks threads now.
offensively the past 7-8 games, the options have been: 1) lebron 2) bosh (so bosh has bumped wade to get to this, most likely due to wade's struggles with his injuries, but wade is shooting better the past few games) 3) wade and that's why bosh is getting more comfortable. we will see if that trend continues
There not in the playoffs yet, so all the pratice they get on the lesser teams, will help them come the playoffs. They are 10-8 which is really, only a couple games behind the lakers, and quite a few other playoff teams.
Wade seems to be injured, but he's still a great third wep. Wade can hopefully get some rest, once Miller comes back. I'm also noticing in the first quater later, thet they are going to Bosh quite early, he's averaging over 20 points the last 7-8 games as well. Also, Miami has 5 centers atm, so Im wondering who they are waiting for to be cut, so they can drop one of there centers. Or what vet on a tanking team, wants to be released, to join a contender...
You are missing the point, this thread is for people to laugh at the Heat when they fail. It's kinda boring when you have 3 top players on one team beating rebuilding teams like Wizards and Detroit
Hey guys, I actually found one out of the last 20 Octavianus posts that was not about defending Lebron and/or the Heat! He posted in the Blake G thread (Clips), and I applaud that bold experiment. In other, similar news, this ESPN Colin Cowherd (sp) guy also seems to be on the payroll. It's really strange, since the guy otherwise has a strong show (particularly for the NFL.) But his only NBA coverage is to worship Lebron and lambast anyone who would question The King. Very hard to explain if he's not on the take. His show this a.m. was having Broussard on to emphatically say that the anti-Spo messages had nothing to do with Lebron's camp. Ooooo-kay. How is ESPN so monolithically one-sided about him? Makes me question a lot of what they do, actually. I'm not saying you have to be a hater -- not at all. There's a lot to like about Lebron the basketball player. But objectively, how can you pretend he and his handlers fart rose spray at this point?
