We dont suck that bad but we arent a above 500 time by much. Win a few and the knee jerks are as bad as the losses. The fans who feel vindicated start to attack other fans instead of fans of losses observe bad play by the players themselves. There needs to be a good balance between observation and critical thinking besides just blind fandom.
I don't believe you guys. The Rockets added Yao, Lee, and Miller. We will win more games than the Grizzlies, but we need to give Yao another month. If he is still playing like this then "we suck." There's no reason the Rockets don't make the playoffs, and I want to play the Lakers first. The Rockets will have to beat them, and they will have all the momentum the rest of the way if they do.
Without a nice win streak or a blockbuster (or almost blockbuster) trade, we're going to be on the playoff bubble, which means either a first round elimination or a middle first round pick. Either way sucks, but I'm still hopeful a nice player will become available before the deadline.
I reckon the reason to why we are losing is because of Yao. By adding the so called "recovered" star back into the the lineup, it screwed up the rotations. Also the people who say "give Yao another month to recover.." or whatever is just plain stupid. We must realize that we are repeating the actions of the past. Does "Tracy McGrady" ring a bell. In my opinion in order to rebuild this team to the NBA championship contenting team Daryl must first realize that Yao is no longer an asset to the team. The Rockets have plenty of pieces which would attract a lot of other teams into trading with us. By utilizing these pieces we would be able to receive quality players which would boost our status to a playoff contenting team and then hopefully a NBA title contenting team. Well that is just my 2 cents on this topic.
They need some one to protect the paint/rim, because they are giving up to many points in the paint imo. Teams just attack, attack, attack the rim every time Yao goes out and have been having success doing it with Brooks/Martin back-court. This team sucks it's true. If they can swing two or three deals like they did after they got T-Mac when they got Wesley, Barry, etc that same year when they were 1-6 they need to do that again only this time with Martin. This team sucks. They could use Okafor playing the 4/5 spot very good defender with Josh Smith next to him playing the 4 spot AND this shores up teams attacking the basket a lot. Then get Iggy or Wallace and this shores up some perimeter defense with some running/rebounding. All i know is Brook/Martin can not stay in front of their man and give up easy baskets. Now they need to keep Martin/Lowry/Scola basically all our guys that get to the line a lot and draw fouls at a high clip, imo Brooks should be a 6th man or be dealt we can land somebody good, to shore up some weaknesses in out back-court. Our team needs a shake up bottom line and it starts with closing out ball games and playing great defense.
Sorry, but your wrong. This team has always been underdogs and as such we have surprised a lot of people when we or they least expect it. In 08 - 09 we sucked at the beginning of the season and we made it to the second round that year. There were plenty of times that we sucked and later that year or the next we would win 50 or more games. There is nothing unrealistic about being optimistic for this rockets team, not when we or 2-6 and there are still 74 games to be played. A lot can happen in the course of 74 games, I'm not a psychic but being a fan of the Rockets, I'm gonna be optimistic for them until the time comes where it is impossible for us to make the playoffs and even then, I'm gonna pray for a good lottery pick.
When i look at the team Brooks/Martin can score, but they give up just as much on the other end when Yao is off the floor. Right now, their best defender is Battier/Jeffries/Hayes/Yao/Lowry/Lee. They need to keep Lowry/Martin/Yao/Lee/Scola, because they get to the line a lot, so their very efficient. Brooks/Battier/Jeffries needs to shore up (all though unrealistic) a player in Okafor's calibur to guard the paint. He is a 2-way player and is very efficient on defense. They have a TE from Ariza deal AND draft picks to play with. IMO only Yao/Martin/Lowry/Scola/Lee/Hill would be untouchables. They are too good at what they bring or can do imo. Brooks/Battier/Jeffries/Budinger/Hayes/Miller are the odd man out, because they are to short AND or not a defensive presence AND or can't score and get to the line. Your best trade assets happen to be Brooks and Budinger imo that would shore up some interior help Cousins/Okafor/Smith AND our expirings for another wing player Iggy/Wallace will help a lot. Another thing that is a glaring need is a closer like Landry. The team philosophy has been to out score their opponent and has shored up a 2-6 record, because no defense can be found when Yao Ming is out or off the floor.
