A slight change in the formati. ALTERNATIVE best of the 80, 90s and more. I am unsure if i like the change. Will give it a few days before i remove them from the pre-set I thought they were doing well with the old format Rocket River
IIRC...The Point was already playing 90s for a while. Still can't believe we don't have an Oldies station in Houston.
It isn't that much of a change. 106.9 already played a lot of 80s and 90s alternative. Only thing different is no more 80s hard rock like Gn'R, Motley Crue or Def Lep.
I remember reading something a few years ago about 'golden oldies' stations being phased out cause most of the listeners from that era were dying off at a rapid rate.
I really liked the Point how it was, it was my favorite station. They've been playing a lot of 90s alternative today.
They slowly changed their selection too. Probably once they changed to "the eagle." Was this "Zone" change today? I don't remember noticing it yesterday.
You and I are done professionally. EDIT: DISCLAIMER: AND I AM NOT ASKING YOU ON A DATE. Dude, I'm married. It was a joke.
My wife has this station on in her car 24/7. I swear, I'm convinced the station is owned by a former member of the band Roxette because every time I'm in the car with her, they are playing 1 of these 3 songs: 1. She's Got the Look - Roxette 2. Must Have Been Love - Roxette 3. Listen to Your Heart - Roxette Seriously. Every time.
Ohhh... now I understand how she got her red light camera ticket. Dude, of course I won't pay attention to anything else if "Must have Been Love" is on the radio. I love "Pretty Woman"!!!!
No, it's true. The 80s had some of the best hard rock and heavy metal. Even the star power eclipsed that of 90s artists. To me, music began to die in the late 90s.
Yeah, for at least a couple of years. They were always weak sauce as an 80s station anyway... NEVER played MJ. Kinda funny, when 106.9 first started they had promos ripping on 96.5 for their format.
Actually they lacked many 80s artists and only played a small variety of the ones they had. The ONLY time I remember them playing MJ was right after he passed away.
