He needs to be less ball dominant so Wade can find his rhythm. But LeBron cares too much about his stats. He's not giving Wade many chances to create. Too bad Wade isn't a good 3pt shooter to spread the floor. I am sure LeBron will miss Mo.
Pippen looked better than MJ in many many games, that didn't mean Pippen was the better player. But I understand you have to convince yourself this way otherwise you'd have committed suicide by now.
I think he did the right thing though, because the Heat are still integrating their system (this is basically the training camp since Wade didn't play at all). Wade probably hasn't had more than five games in his career like this, where he couldn't buy a call or hit any of the mid range shots he is usually so effective on. Once those start going in (probably tomorrow), he'll demand more defensive attention and then the offense will really open up.
Also tend to forget that they probably played the best defence in the league yesterday. If not for that 9 point first quarter, things might have been different. Of course hypotheticals now won't lead to much..
The C's don't get enough credit. If this KG had been in the playoffs, they probably would have been the favorite. They've gotten off to the best starts in the NBA the last three years and they could very well do it again this year. Their problem is mostly keeping healthy for the end, since their best players are all old except for Rondo.
I think the C's get plenty of credit. Their bench is the best in the league, although there is not much room for future development which is their major issue. They have four all star quality starters and a competent starting center in Shaq. The coaching staff are proven winners, though we'll see how that turns out now with the departure of Thibs. Their window of opportunity lasts no longer than two years; although I think I've been saying that since 2008 so who knows?
Convince myself of what? That Kobe isn't the best player in the NBA? Not many non-Laker fans (or Kobe homers) believe that. I think he's a top-30 all-time talent (along the lines of Drexler and 'Nique) who has benefited from some very stacked teams. He is now in the twilight of his career dealing with mileage and injuries and it'll be interesting to see if he can defer to the superior players on his team or if he'll continue to chuck volume shots at 40%. I only poke fun at him because I know it infuriates his fansquad and that makes me happy because you guys are like a plague of idiocy o'er the forums.
I mean mostly credit here and in the media. People are talking about how, after one game, the Heat are this debacle etc, but not factoring in that the C's played pretty damn good defense to make them look this bad. In two months when the C's have the #1 best record and the Heat have #2, maybe it'll make more sense.
Barkley last night, "Jordan's Bulls can put the champagne on ice, their record is safe.". Forget the Bulls, Heat will be lucky to win 55 games. Celtics made the big shots to win the game. Heat don't have anybody like that. Heat have 3 guys who can get the game close, but nobody to finish the deal.
Exactly how I expected the game to be. The Heat looked like they never played together before. We'll be intreresting to watch this team start to gel later in the season.
After last nights game its very clear that Dwayne Wade is the top dog in Miami and Lebron is just a second banana sidekick.
Wade went an abysmal 4-16 from the field, Bosh was an even worse 3-11, they had plenty of touches and opportunities, just played like ****. And if it wasnt for Lebron takin over, the heat wouldve lost by 25. Nice troll attempt.
The Heat got the game down to 3 points with 1 minute left. They ended up losing by 8. When was the last time Wade, Lebron, Bosh made a game winning shot? As talented as these guys are, none of them have "ice-water in their veins" like Dirk, Nash, Yao, Melo, Kobe, Roy, Duncan.
I can't speak for LeBron or Bosh (stat gurus back me up here) but I watch Wade and he has made tons of game winning shots. You're talking as if this was a playoff game, one that really really mattered... I'm sure for the Heat this was a game to test their ability and see what they need to tinker.
I think the last one was for Wade was in November last year. Bosh and Lebron didn't have any that I can recall from last year. Last year, guys like Dirk made 3, Kobe made 6, etc. D Wade is the best of the Heat at it but he didn't make many last year compared to the other guys. Just like last night, the Heat had a chance to win that game being down by only 3 but they ended up choking and coughing up another 5 points. But like you said, let's see how it goes, it is early, just my observation watching these guys individually for the last couple of years.
you can make that argument about Lebron maybe...or Bosh. but Wade? come on! the man put his team on his back and won an NBA Finals because of it.
I agree, Wade back in 2006 was bad ass. But since he had all those injuries, he seems to have lost alot of his ice water.
Only 1 ball folks, they are going to each have to change their games, and that is going to take time. They won't win 65 games like all the pundits think, but they probably win 50. DD
