that will happen b/c wade is that good. but lebron is clearly the most unstoppable offensive force in the NBA. that will never change regardless of who lebron plays with.

lebron will probably have 3-4 bad games in the entire NBA season. and his bad games are career games for most perimeter players.

Oh, no doubt about Lebron being the best player in the NBA (pretty much since his 2nd year). But it may be the case that on the Heat he'll take a facillitator role, playing PG, while Wade puts up the big scoring numbers. Or maybe they'll split that. It's just too early to tell based on their first real game together against arguably the best defensive team in the NBA (on their floor).

Who is better? The only person really in the argument is Dwight Howard, but I think his offensive game is too limited.

Well, take Howard off Orlando and they will struggle to make the playoffs. With him, they are a contender. So he's pretty good. Lebron, Howard, and Durant are the only real MVP contenders at this point in time, unless Nash pulls another miracle and wins 60 with his squad :)

You guys don't think James is the leader of the Heat? Honestly?
Ok you may have a point that he is one of the joint leaders with Wade as viewed by outsiders. Firstly let's make it clear Bosh isn't the leader of this team for fairly obvious reasons.
1.)The cameras on TNT are constantly focused on Lebron. Wade was clearly out of sorts in this game due to that injury in preseason so this may have an effect on who got the attention today.
2.)Wade and Bosh give the ball to Lebron under desperate circumstances or cases where a basket is needed and he often delivers..
3.)He leads both vocally and by example

An argument into who is the leader of the Heat is already validation of Lebron's leadership skills. If the situation were reversed and Wade joined the Cavaliers, there would be no dispute over who the leader would be. This is by the way, no fault of Wade's as he is just as good as Lebron in terms of basketball skill set. Some players just give that vibe.. Lebron is one of them.

Gasol is good, but he has a good team around him. Howard has less of a supporting cast and has more impact on the game than Pau.

True, but it's a better indicator than winning, since basketball is a team sport. But Lebron has no excuse not to do both this year, since he's the best player on the best team :)

I just think it's too hard to tell from one game under rather unique circumstances. For example, I considered Wade to be the best player and leader of the "redeem team", even though Lebron was (and still is) the superior talent to anyone on that team.

LeBron is in his ballhog mode, again in Miami, that's what he's familiar with in Cavs. Of course it doesn't take much adjustment. Wade, on the other hand, has to play off ball, which he hasn't been doing all his career, and the injury didn't help. If you reverse the roles and LeBron is gonna look like a deer in the light too.

This is not saying Heat won't be good and win a lot of games, but these 2 players won't be compatible in the court, neither has good off ball skills and it's not gonna develop in the season. Wade doesn't need LeQuitter, he'd rather have the money on a post player and they'd be even better team, but you can't stop LeBandwagon.

I am interested to see how this pan out.

LOL, you are entitled to your opinion but you can't stop people from seeing who's the best player in the league.

So we go to this Cavs were the best team in regular season because of LeBron and sucked in playoff because of the scrubs argument again?

I've been saying this for years, LeBron turns everybody to scrub because of his ballhog style. Stars actually need to have the ball to be effective.

If the first game showed me anything, it was that Lebron needed to be more assertive and PASS LESS. He was too busy trying to get everyone involved when clearly he was the only one on a streak. By the time he started taking matters into his own hands the game was already too late.
With two superstars and one perennial all-star, they can't afford to be ball dominant and waste talent playing iso-ball. I remember the commentator making a remark along the lines of, "If Lebron knew they would be playing this style, he would have stayed in Cleveland." Everyone knows what he is capable of so they defer responsibilities to him. Once Wade hits his stride, this team will be dangerous. I mean... they were playing atrocious ball and only lost the game in the last few seconds. How much worse can they get?

Look man, I already admitted Gasol was good (clearly the MVP of the game today, continuing his successful run from the Finals). He's not the best player in the league though.

We'll see how the Cavs "stars" do now that ballhog Lebron is gone. I'm pretty sure the Heat will find a way to fit such a cancerous player into the system and win a few games this year.
