It wouldnt be on the basis of tonights game, it would be on the basis of every game weve seen each of them play, which is more than enough to see lebron is FAR superior.
Durant played a lot in summer. Now, it is more about adjustment for him in preseaon games. In contrast, James didn't play in summer, and he just joined a new team. He needs to prove himself now. I think if he still played for the cavs, he might not play in this preseason game.
but you see what i'm talking about. when he struggles offensively, what else does he do OFFENSIVELY though? guys like lebron, wade, kobe, chris paul (the truly elite perimeter players) can still impact the offense by creating for their teammates. with westbrook out, i don't know why durant doesn't take the initiative to do something. it's the preseason, experiment. i think him and carmelo are from the same mold. pure scorers who rebounds and handles the ball decently. however, they just don't have that floor game that takes them to another level. durant is better than anthony b/c he's such a ridiculously great scorer. how about last season?
Is it not obvious that I was replying to this comment. I would have thought the "quote" box with the comment I was replying to would have given it away. But what do I get- 9 people telling me to base it on last season. Mr. Octavianus presents this game right now as proof to change the minds of all those people who thing Durant is better. And I replied to that. Now shut the hell up, until you all learn a few more levels of reading comprehension.
Man Thabo is looking real nice. Sucks that we didn't pick him up when we had the chance. He reminds me of a younger Bowen/Battier type with more athleticism. He really made Kobe's life hard in the playoffs last season.
You know who just impressed me in this game? Cole freakin' Aldrich. That guy is only a rookie?? He was awesome on both sides, his picks were veteran-quality, and he had a lot more energy and hustle than I ever gave him credit for. He should get some serious minutes for OKC this season.
"LeBron is a level above Durant" is not a proclamation based on a single preseason game. It should have gone without saying that he thinks LeBron is a better player than Durant based on a lot of games, and he's pointing out this particular game as illustrative of the larger pattern to those of you who are in denial.
2 games into the preseason and the Heat look as advertised. Without Wade I could see them being a top 3 seed in the East easily. LeBron is unstoppable. He really has a chip on his shoulder now, honestly he will be the top dog in Miami. Wade will take a backseat. They might get close to 70 wins this season.
Still, his point remains. Someone who is in denial and still thinks that Durant is the better player at this point, isn't going to change their mind after watching a pre-season game.
Pretty exciting huh? With all the people who expected them to fail , plus the targets on their backs, expect these guys to give it 110% every night.
Yes, because being fans of other players/teams would make us all traitors. Heat are in the East, Rockets are in the West.
If you looked at the boxscores, both teams played there bench, I doubt winning was on the mind of both teams.
