Who said anything about him being a 6th man? Maybe he's the 7th man or 8th man. Maybe he's the 12th man. McGrady isn't in a position to quibble about minutes at this stage. He played that card last year already.
the only way mcgrady will be a 12th man is if he is sitting in the stands at kyle field! A&M will be 30 points better next year if he is there!
What exactly was misinterpreted or taken out of context? Two majorly stupid things he did: -Referenced himself as being a part of the team before the Bulls gave him a contract to sign -Implying several times that he foresaw himself as a major contributor/starter, when the Bulls have made clear that a major stipulation to any deal would be that he needed to be okay with a minimal role off the bench. He's very clearly not on the same page as the Bulls. None of the workout reports gave any indication that he has an ounce of his old juice - only that he was able to move around at a very basic NBA level. If he could ever learn to simply shut his yapper, if he could ever learn to check his warehouse-sized ego, he'd still be a member of the Rockets. Because of those two issues, he may have balled up the last viable option he had out there.
Did you even see the Nets this past season? The Nets won 12 games. Yes, 12 games. That shows that their goal wasn't exactly to win games and make a championship run. They were in Lebron James mode. Rebuilding teams don't usually trade for aging veterans to improve their team. Plus, T-Mac still would have eventually played for them. Just like last season how he "played" for Houston and NY.
My take on T-Mac is that he's good for ten minutes a game, tops. Anymore than that and you come to rely on him, and that gives him too much power, Tracy uses that to stir up drama. He loves drama. 10 minutes a night, two year contract, two million per year, and not one dime more money or one second more playing time. That's what he is and that's what he's worth.
You don't need a McGrady-type player for 10 minutes a night. You need energy players in that role. I don't see McGrady really contributing to a winning team in any capacity from this point forward.
Anybody that thinks Tmac can consistently contribute to an NBA team is seriously deluding themselves.
http://www.nba.com/bulls/bullstv/samsmith.html Sam Smith video where he says T-Mac is most likely not going to be a Chicago Bull and that he shot himself in the foot with his post workout comments...
sorry, i lost track of the thread and never checked it again. TOTALLY down, it's about time i paid a lil contribution to the tip jar anyways. So, If tracy mcgrady averages 10 points a game (10 game min) I will donate $25 to the tipjar if he averages %15 ppg (10 game min) i will donate $50 to the tipjar if he dunks the ball without a ladder i will donate $10 to the tipjar it's a deal son
If the Pistons don't sign McGrady today, it probably doesn't happen. His next chance will be with the Cavs since he just worked out there. I think it's awesome McGrady has to prove himself before getting signed and two teams have already passed him over. Humble pie doesn't taste good, but his own big mouth put him in this position.
awesome! finally got a TOF to bite on this! its a bet homie! but what if t-mac doesnt play at all?
