Did someone else offer Landry more money

I thought it took forever and 1 team eventually made an offer which the Rockets promptly matched.

Lowry will be somewhere between $2.5-4million - and I would think it'll be 3 years with the third at the team option.

I don't see him getting a higher offer than that elsewhere anyway?

The Knicks are just going to be getting out of spending the MLE on Chris Duhon. That is a mistake that will be right in their face and fresh in their memory. They won't repeat it.

That having been said, in the past few years, Duhon and Beno Udrih have both gotten the MLE. Jason Kapono, Vlad Radmanovic and DeSagna Diop as well. And I'm sure a few others that I can't recall off the top of my head. Every off season, it seems, some GM will reach and overspend their MLE on a player who doesn't deserve it.

'Gritty toughness' and potential are things that give incompetent GM's a gleam in their eye. If Lowry hadn't been injured so much this year, I think the Rockets might have needed to be at least moderately concerned.

Lowry is absolutely critical to the team. He is a one of a kind player. What other player is able to change the momentum of a game off the bench to the extent he does? He's not even been given the chance to show us what he can do starting the game, for chrissake.

Luis Scola is a starter and the most consistent player on the Rockets. Lowry is a change of pace backup PG. The importance of the 2 is not even comparable. Especially considering Lowry is not the best at his position on the team.

Scola was also part of that bad stretch of losses before we traded Landry, and continuing on until Lowry's return from injury. Lowry absolutely helped us start winning games again when he came back.

Some Rockets fans like you vastly overrated Brooks; others can see that Lowry is essential to our success.

Lowry is the tempo managing guard we have. Tempo doesn't show up on stat sheets.

Assuming no other deal, we keep him.

I think the bigger question is, what are the other deals, and what happens with our pick? I think most of us expect DM to pull something big out of his hat. He had nothing last year, and got us Budinger. This year, he has actual assets to play with.

Is Brooks going to be part of some blockbuster trade? Are we picking up some hot PG in the draft, maybe even after moving up?

The last thing to worry about is NY missing out on Lebron and setting their sites on Lowry instead. They are more likely to send us the chicken shack for a future 2nd.

I don't overrate Brooks, I simply refuse to overrate Lowry like some of you. Brooks is the better player, that much is clear. Lowry is a great backup pg, there is no way he could be the starting pg for this team (if they want to contend). Brooks has proven himself as a legit PG, leading this team the farthest they have been in the playoffs in over a decade.

I'm not saying williams would be my first choice, but if someone offers 4m, they probably should and will let him walk. Either that or trade brooks. Just like with the landry situation, i don't think they will pay 2 pg's the money needed to retain them.

No inside info at all. I just watch the games and pick up on patterns. Lowry playing with Brooks equals more winning than Brooks playing alone.

Damn, I wish that Brooks and Lowry were 1 person!

Imagine the shooting touch of Brooks and the driving ability, defense, and ability to get to the ft line in Lowry!

I think Morey will get in his genetic lab and contstruct the perfect PG to solve all of our problems.

Ladies and Gentlemen, your new starting point guard for the 2010-2011 season, Aaron Browry or Kyle Lowrooks!
