Ethnic and religious violence has existed in sub-saharan Africa for quite some time, regardless of the religious afffiliation of the rioters. Why is it being protrayed as an organized act of islamic terrorism? This is part of a larger series of tribal conflicts that have been ongoing for over a decade. Somebody is either obviously trolling or has a lot to learn - probably both.
So why don't you just come out and say that you believe that Muslims are a problem in the world. Don't put up a news story with a miscued title as if it's only about the story. Your real agenda is to start a thread about Muslims. I have no problem with people spouting out their beliefs in order to demonize groups, but when it's done with a slight cover it seems to annoy me. And why don't you look at the Rwandan rebels in the Congo to see terrorist attacks. Or do you only look at what America calls terrorist attacks?
IMO if someone puts up a thread title like this one, there's really no point trying to explain the mistake to them. There is far too much ignorance in the action to be addressed through an internet forum discussion. I promise that your time is better spent researching the conditions in Nigeria and, at the very least, being aware of what's going on outside your country. In any case, my prayers go out to the lives lost in the story.
As a D&D topic - it makes me wonder if related Christian groups in the US might see this as a call to civil war in Nigeria.
They probably will if they exhibit the same level of ignorance of the original poster. Violence Is Not Religiously Motivated, Nigerian Archbishop Says I wonder if the farmers in the US will see this as a call to civil war against herders.
We have a winner on both accounts. Thank you for posting that. When any contrary response was deemed "muslim apologist" in nature, it was clear any useful discussion jumped the shark when the thread was but a glimmer in the eye...
With a moniker like AroundTheWorld, you'd think he/she would be a bit less ignorant. I am not sure why Clutch allows "news topics" to be started up in the D&D. Perhaps a new section for such things. If you're going to start a thread in D&D, you should have a stance on the topic. The OP obviously wants to state "Islam = Terrorism" but is afraid so instead pulls a Basso. No comment, no argument, not even a question, just a plain article for our viewing pleasure.
The thought never occurred to you that you didn't hear about the other killings because the victims were Muslims and the perpetrators were Christians?
I wouldn't go that far. But I haven't seen any of the apologists for Islamic extremism or PC posters here dispute the fact that most terrorist attacks nowadays are committed "in the name of Islam". By the way, has anyone read about the success Mr. Wilders has had in the Netherlands? I should start a new thread so people can discuss that.
Does that make their attacks any better? What point are you trying to make? If anything, it makes their actions even more absurd.
SJC - If you only exerted one-tenth of the effort researching this topic that you had devoted to sleuthing/stalking Macbeth...
It means you have less to worry about. By the way most terrorist attacks aren't carried out by Muslims. Please check your facts before spouting off nonsense like this.
