Exactly, pretty much people it seems like Rockets fans have been suffering from this for a while. When Brooks was the backup PG, people wanted Alston gone, despite his game improving over the last season and a half and having all the same strengths as Lowry save getting to the FT line.

Now that Brooks is the starter, they are calling for Lowry. Don't get me wrong, Lowry is a very good PG, but overall Brooks is the superior option especially right now. Anyone think starting Lowry most of this season, we'd be anywhere but under .500 now, is delusional.

LOL - that's not the flavor of the grand pronouncements you were making back then, where you basically told us that Francis would never attain the ability to create for other players, since such a skill was inherently unlearnable and could not be taught.....something that you now regularly promise us that Brooks will develop with simply time and teaching.

On the first bolded part, somehow i knew Yao would get thrown into this conversation. Again, we don't know what kinda of player yao will be and i think Yao is going to have to do the adjusting.

The next part highlighted is the dead horse that people keep beating the crap out of. Was Terry Porter a pass first pg? That team was loaded and they made it to 2 finals. What about Bibby? Was he this imaginary pass first pg? I seem to remember him playing off the ball, running the offense and scoring buckets. In fact he scored enough to get a near max deal and invited to the olympics over iverson.

If we were trying to decide between a pass first great pg like kidd or someone of that nature, it would be totally different. Coaches adjust for greatness, but Brooks is clearly the better player and he is prototypical of adelman's pg's in ability.

Its funny now, because when Yao gets back and they start swarming yao because Lowry cant shoot the 3, these fans will be crying to put brooks back in the game...

We seen it last year, but alot of members on this board suffere from the early stages of alzheimers

Disagree. Yao is the type of player that the offense revolves around...not vice versa.

Brooks can shoot better than Steve could and is quicker, but they are the same player. Brooks makes the same mistakes that you killed Francis over.

The difference Sam, is that I do see Aaron Brooks making those passes, he has good court vision, but his teamates are failing to finish them.

Is it ELITE court vision? No, but it is a heck of a lot better than Francis' was and IMO good enough.

Steve Francis was an entirely different animal, and I was 100% right about him.

As, of course, I am about Brooks.

Brooks and Francis both have the same mind set, they get the ball and they look to see how they can get their own shot before considering the open man calling for the ball or who is going to be open when he drives towards the paint, or draws players towards him.
However I think Brooks has much greater potential than Francis - as a shooting guard. :p

you can find brooks in every draft. we can easily replace brooks with this guy [urlhttp://www.nbadraft.net/players/willie-warren[/url]

then trade brooks ny picks, battier for BOSH.

    lowry/warren
    martin
    ariza/cbud
    bosh
    yao

Wrong again Yetti, you are batting 1.000 today.

Did you see Brooks laser that ball to Martin on the break? Did you see Brooks with the great pass to Scola on the pick and pop?

Brooks has very good court vision, and putting people that move without the ball will highlight it for people that apparently are not able to see the truth.

Martin will help Brooks immensely, I have been clamoring for 2 penetrating, creating players for years....we finally have it....and PSSSST...it will make it easier for your boy Yao too....

He will have more room to operate as teams pay more attention to AB and Kmart......and especially on the offensive Glass, Yao can clean up....if they miss.

This team has it's own big 3....Yao, Brooks and Kmart.....

Embrace the truth......learn grasshopper.....snatch the pebble from my hand.

Lowry is really overrated by some of you guys. Once Yao comes back (if he ever does) we need a shooter like AB in the game.

Martin will be back on the bench when Ariza gets back anyways, he and lowry will play together off the bench.

I don't know everything, just know that Brooks is better than Lowry.

As for the rest....try not to make it personal....it is below us.

Good points. AB and KM will definitely compliment each other. They had some good solid passes to each other yesterday, especially on the break.

Putting Lowry in the game with Yao is begging to go back to the days of struggling to dump it down to Yao and then watching him go one on one. Teams will not be able to double Yao easily, if at all, with shooters like AB, KM, Scola and to a lesser extent, Ariza in the game.

Brooks isnt clearly the better player, he won the job by default due to the fact that we traded Alsotn away to make Brooks the PG of the future and Lowry was the new kid on the block, THATS why brooks is the starting PG otherwise the Rox org would be criticized for making that deal if Aaron isnt starting, Brooks will get evry opportunity to lose the job no matter how bad some of his games are
if youve watched any of the games this year youd realize that the 1st unit started the game playing like HOT garbage and then wadaya kno? here comes Lowry to the rescue changing the game around in our favor and he simply set up Ariza Battier CBud Landry etc
Lowrys shooting has never been exposed its just that when he shoots it he misses so badly that it gets mentioned of but hes not a liability out on the court ny no means he lead the team with the most drawn fouls which leads to yep u guessed it FT's u cant put a value on that its invaluable dude
Brooks is great and i like the guy dont get me wrong but i simply prefer lowry's style with the 1st unit, wat are u gona do? sue me?

1 more bit of info, Brooks won the job in training also bcuz the coaching staff KNEW that we needed scoring in the starting lineup b4 the season began.. where were u gona get to create their own shot? Trevor? Shane? Chuck? Scola is decent but NO so therefore Brooks HAD to be the starting PG
    game, set, match
