Maybe, but I have a feeling were not gonna hear the last of any Rockets related trades since Morey is pulling something outta his hat!
How dumb would it be to have a starting lineup consisting of one player that can hit an open shot (Martin)? At the end of the day, as much as anyone likes Lowry, he will never start for this team while Brooks is here. You cannot have a starting PG who cannot hit a shot. Especially on a team with so many offensive liabilities as it is. Just because martin is now in the lineup, they still have Hayes, Ariza/Battier who are zeros on offense.
This is what I have been saying the past couple weeks. AB has to become the 6th man off the bench. Cause when he's hot he is on FIRE, and when he's not... Well he loses games for us in crunch time. He gets no calls in the paint in the 4th. Continues to turn the ball over. He would work alot better if he was used like Jason Terry or even like JR Smith. If he improves this offseason on his PG problems, then start him next year but he is still a SG in a PG's body right now.
Well please stop saying it then because it doesn't make any sense. He doesn't "lose games" in crunch time, give me a break. Right now Brooks is the ONLY threat the Rockets have at the end of games. The defense knows this and is able to focus all its energy on stopping him. With other threats on the floor this won't happen and Brooks will be even more deadly. Not to mention, Brooks starting or not has nothing to do with the END of games, only the beginning. So that's irrelevant. Starting or not, he will be on the floor at the end of games because he's more of a threat. See: Kenny Smith, Sam Cassell.
dude I like Lowry but you know how good AB is. He's almost at the point of being an Allstar. Lowry is a spark off the bench and needs to remain that for now. If he starts hitting all his threes then we'll talk about putting Brooks on the bench of trading block. Till then, he's not threatening enough behind the 3 line.
Did anyone notice that Brooks defense is even worse than usual tonight, he doesn't have defensive cover anymore since kevin martin is an even worse defender than him. TJ ford looked like iverson and Earl watson looked like baron davis tonight against him. Not to mention the usual offense breaking down cos he is not a good point guard but at this point if you can't see that, you don't know how to watch basketball.
Aaron Brooks isn't going to the bench until, at the very least, next season. That's nothing against AB. I just think that we are going to get Chris Bosh in the offseason and if AB is still here after that, then he'll go to the bench.
trugoy, I agree with a lot of what you're saying but do you see any issues beyond Brooks? I understand your frustration and some of your points are completely accurate but you seem to talk about absolutely nothing but PG play and almost seem to blame everything that goes wrong on Brooks. I can't remember the last post you've made that didn't involve over the top criticism of Brooks as if there aren't 4 other guys on the court and an opposing team.
I've noticed Lowry has been forcing a lot drives lately. I'd rather have Brooks starting because he's been an All Star Point Guard for us this year and is getting better.
I hope so because he is much more of a Point Guard than Brooks. Brooks should come from the bench and concentrate on scoring.
We have plenty of problems, but we don't have existing solutions within the team for most of those, except maybe anderson's minutes now that hill and jeffries are here. The solution for brooks is easy, just play him in a jason terry instant offense role and stop making him a starting PG.
If the Rockets keep Brooks as their starter next season. IMO they need to try to trade for Ginobili (S&T) or Prince.
