Whiskey - I'm really digging this Glenmorangie 18 year that I've been drinking lately.
    Bourbon - Woodford
    Rum - Cruzan Single Barrel
Vodka - Ketel, Level, or Belvedere
Tequila - I'm not usually a tequila drinker but the best tequila that I ever had was Gran Patron Burdeos Anejo Tequila. It's a super premium that may be the best alcohol that I've ever tasted. Here is a write up that I found online:

Gran Patron Burdeos Anejo Tequila is distilled at 55 precent alcohol volume from the finest blue Agave grown in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. The Tequila is matured in a blend of American and French oak barrels and aged for a minimum of 12 months. It is then distilled again before it is racked in vintage Bordeaux barrels, hand-selected from the great chateaux of France to add the distinctive flavors of vanilla, raisins and dried fruit found in the finest Bordeaux wine.

Hate rum but I don't mind mixing with Cap Morgan's spiced. When it comes to rum its not a big deal, the occasional coke n lime or mojito or long island... it doesn't make a diff.

vodka, they all feel the same to me except that Kettle 1 does have that kind of hidden taste type thing going on.

whiskey, no. scotch yes. JWB's (black n blue) and Glenlivet now sometimes.

tequila, it doesn't matter. all tastes the same when mixed to me and never shoot that stuff. never.

Vodka: Stoli (on the rocks, with a wedge of lime).
    Rum: Cruzan
Whiskey: Only tried Jim Beam and Crown in my whole life, enjoyed the Crown and Coke enough.
Tequila: Eh, as long as it's not cheap, don't really care. Obviously Patron Silver is nice for shots. 1800 Resposado is nice.

Woodford Reserve is very good. A customer of mine from Kentucky sent me a bottle. It did not last long.

Vodka: Tito's (made right here in the Texas hill country)
Bourbon: Maker's Mark or Woodford Reserve
Scotch: pretty much any aged single malt... Macallan 12 is the semi-affordable go-to... was just given a bottle of Balwhinnie 15 from the highlands, needless to say it's gone now :)

    Damn, off to happy hour...

Whiskey - Makers Mark (but I'm not that big of a whiskey drinker)

    Rum - It's been a long time.

    Vodka - Belvedere

Tequila - Cazadores reposado (that's the best one that's semi-affordable to drink regularly. There are better ones if someone is splurging. Don Julio 1942 is one of those. Most varieties of Patron are overrated for the price.

It's made from 100% corn, and I'm pretty sure it's won multiple international contests. It's some good sheet, the only vodka I drink. (on the rocks with a wedge of lime)

OK, dumb question of the day- what's the difference between whiskey and bourbon?

Oh, and Smirnoffs for the Vod, Beefeater for the Gin, Jose Cuervo for the Tequila (I know, all obvious). Jack Daniels rules all.

on a random side note, with everyone saying they love Patron Silver, I have a question:

Do people think Patron is so great because it's so great, or do they love it because Patron was the first to put a major marketing effort behind their Silver tequila? People always say they love the "smoothness" of Patron Silver, but all Silver tequila is going to be smoother than the aged tequilas. I'm glad to see Cuervo 1800 has started to market their Silver tequila as well.

I'd imagine that if people started trying other brands of Silver tequila, they wouldn't have a particular affinity for Patron, but rather Silver tequila.

Bourbon is basically corn whiskey made in Kentucky. All bourbon is whiskey, but all whiskey is not bourbon.

The best whiskey for your money, bourbon or not, is Woodford Reserve.

Jose Cuervo is not really tequila. It's only 50% actual tequila or something like that. 1800 is Jose Cuervo's real tequila brand. Don't drink Cuervo Gold unless you want to be sick the next morning. I guess it's suitable as a mixer, but I wouldn't even use it for that purpose.

The best tequila for your money is Herradura Anejo. The best tequila I've ever had is Don Julio's 1942 - so smooth you can almost drink it like water, but still full and rich.

I don't really drink rum or vodka unless they're mixed into daiquiris.

Believe it or not, I probably drink Jagermeister more than anything else because it helps to settle my stomach.

I think the main difference between both the Silver Tequila's (Jose Cuervo/Patron) is that "blanco" Patron is very harsh at the beginning as opposed to silver JC which is very smooth for a a silver Tequila. The way I see it is that Patron is a man's drinks and JC is more smoother "get through the night at maximum tipsy" drink.

Clear tequila itself and will have more of the "bitey" agave taste than a gold tequila or anything darker. The more a tequila is aged the more mellow it becomes. So the comparison I stated in the first paragraph may not apply to anejo or reposado tequila.
