From CNN article. "(CNN) -- Eleven people plus a gunman were killed and 31 were wounded after the gunman opened fire at Fort Hood in Texas on Thursday, a Fort Hood spokesman said. The gunman was a soldier, and two other soldiers have been detained as suspects, said the spokesman, Lt. Gen. Bob Cone." (not arguing with the 12 number at all, just posting the confirmed soldier, with two other suspects also soldiers.)
Now just heard that one of the shooters (dead) had orders to go back on deployment??? No I think I heard it wrong. I think it was the victims were heading back out on deployment.
Sen Hutchinson is talking right now. She says its a complete surprise because they dont carry around ammunition. Umm, sentries guard a gate with no ammo? I'm sorry but even in the Navy you carry ammo but never loaded. I am quite sure the Army would have more to pass around. Especially for how big the base is. (9 schools inside this base!?!?!?)
The suspected gunman was identified by ABC News as Major Malik Nadal Hasan. http://abcnews.go.com/WN/soldiers-killed-fort-hood-shooting/story?id=9007938
One of the shooters have been identified as Major Malik Nadal Hasan. I'm guessing the religion of peace strikes again. http://abcnews.go.com/WN/soldiers-killed-fort-hood-shooting/story?id=9007938
That is true. As I posted earlier, my friend's boyfriend is stationed there. He was joking the other day how he had left his id at home in Austin and couldn't get in for work. He said he could have just kicked the guard's butt because they didn't have ammo. They're apparently civilians, retired from the Army.
