I know his grandma refused to be interviewed. But what about his other white relatives? I read enough stories about his relatives in Kenya. Does he have something to hide? Can Obama-ites here show me some articles interviewing his white relatives? Thanks!
I've seen one of his white cousins interviewed from time to time and I agree... I'd also try to hide this guy if he was my cousin...
They're probably ashamed of his liberal left wing stances and his dealings with the hate filled, anti Semitic Afro-centric minister who he pledged his allegiance to for 20 years for political gain.
Maybe they are living with Tony Rezko next door to Revvum Wright in the upper-crust, lilly white suburbs of Chicago.
If this jewish guy is able to get over what his pastor preached about over the past 20 years, then I'm sure his family can do the same. 1. Blood > Politics 2. I knew this thread would bring out those raised by racists.
you know, you could have just asked for information about his mother's side of the family - instead of calling them his "white" relatives and suggesting he has something to hide - - the only remaining "white" relative is Madelyn Dunham, his grandmother, and she is in very poor health I, for one, appreciate that he does not drag him grandmother into the political process - I lost my grandmother to cancer several years ago, and would never had wanted her to waste her precious energy on campaign appearances. I noticed that you did not suggest that Annie Oakly Clinton, was hiding something by not revealing all these families she has in every primary - - I swear, to listen to her, she's lived in every state of the union
Exactly. The way this thread was worded was absolutely ridiculous and is ultra-inflammatory and insulting to many. Obviously, Bigtexxx/T_J don't see this.
1. That looks like an RM95 post in spirit and in content, so don't think you are getting away with sharing Major's account. 2. Why don't you donate to the site today? Can you spare $10 for Clutch?
As TJ stated, this was reported to the moderators. I agree with him (can't believe I'm saying that). This is over the line. Insulting someone's heritage is equivalent to being a racist yourself. Like friends of mine in middle school were fond of saying when somebody whipped out a "yo momma" during a swath of insults, "Leave momma's out of this" or parents in this case. While we are talking about racism, I find this to be right on the borderline: What is this, a Mark Twain novel? You make fun of someone because of the way they pronounce a word. THAT sounds pretty damn racist to me. --- Listen, TJ, I'm going to say this here once and for all because I'm really REALLY tired of your antics. You are a smart guy and you clearly get how to manipulate the system. You push and push people knowing they will overreact. You go right up to insulting people and use not-so-subtle words and phrases (see instance above) to incite people to do stupid things. Then, when someone says something remotely bothersome to you, you run to the moderators for help. You do this because you know this allows you to move the boundaries. The mods unwittingly are suckered into your scheme of bullying people and then seeking the board's protection. This has been a consistent pattern of yours since before the D&D existed and I personally am DONE with it. All of the mods (we've discussed you at length) and most of the posters agree that you are one of the primary reasons the D&D is such a problem. There is a handful of both left and right wing posters in here that make this place almost as unbearable as a GARM full of rookies and you are at the top of the list. So, here's how it is going to work. You are going to clean up what you say in here. You are going to put yourself on your best behavior and start being respectful to other posters (that goes for ALL of you) or you WILL be gone. Period. End of story. Or, in your vernacular. CASE CLOSED
Jeff, that seems fair. I'd also ask that you watch what other people direct at me, as evidenced in this thread by Major's and Franchise2001's posts. I do in fact go to great lengths not to respond in kind to the 10+ personal attacks that I receive on a daily basis. So note that restraint as you think about the forum's behavior. Clearly, Obama's campaign has brought new posters into this forum who have not previously been through election cycles and are not familiar with having their man directly criticized. So naturally they are out of their element when confronted, and this leads to heightened emotions. All I ask is that these people are similarly policed. But I will comply with your request.
While Obama hasn't quite dragged his grandmother into the political process he has brought her into it by citing her in his speech as someone who used racist languange on occasion.
I might regret this but I'm going to defend T_J. What T_J does is inflamatory and he knows it but its certainly within the power of others to not take his bait. Also its true he gets his own share of venom spewed back at him. For the most part this is deservedly so but its not like everythign is one sided. I'm not going to defend him for running to the mods and in my opinion he's being a whiny cry baby to do so but it seems clear that that is part of his game and rather than take his bait I think it would be better to just ignore both his baiting and his crying. For all of the headaches that NewYorker gave me I will give him credit that I he knew what he was doing and didn't go to the mods when he got burned. I'm going to humbly remake the suggestion I had in the Nothing but Net Forum to leave D & D unmoderated and let free speech run rampant. While it will get ugly I think most of us can grow thick skins and figure out how to police ourselves by just ignoring those who get out of hand.
