The Twin Towers: Big Boss Man and Prince Akeem (from Deepest, Darkest Africa).
    The Honky Tonk Man.
    The Viking (Huss! Huss!)
    Bad News Brown
The World's Strongest Man Dino Bravo
Jim "the Anvil" Neidhart and his long-ass goatee.
    Those nasty ass Bushwackers

A little bummed to see all the piling on to the Warrior in the Youtube clip. Seeing those old interviews took me right back to fifth and sixth grade.

Warrior was bad even by old school standards. I love old school wrestling, but Warrior couldn't carry Hogan's jock strap in the ring, let alone guys like Flair, Savage, Steamboat, et al.

wrestling like everything else has stepped its game up as far as athletes, no one can deny that, even though these new guys are obviously roided up.

one of the saddest displays I've ever witnessed was about eight years ago, a legend of wrestling special on pay per view. imagine an old beer bellied Jake the Snake heavily breathing his way around the ring.

damn thats wrong, r u serious? I still remembered that interview when he picked her to kiss.

Rude: your husband a garbage man?

    Cheryl: he's a profesional wrestler

Rude: oh yeah? whats his name?

Cheryl: Jake (long pause) DA SNAKE (Pause) ROOOOBERTS!

Then Jake runs out form the dressing room and chases Rick.

Cheryl wore a white suit and had frizzy hair that was tied up in some sort of french twist or bun.

Please don't ask me why I remmber this.

Oooooh, I remember that. Jake's wife was HOT.

The Bolsheviks giving a beat-down to whatever American good 'ol boy was available, then covering him up with the USSR flag....man that pissed me off when I was 9 or 10 or so!

Damn commie Russians. Then America would fight back, beating the hell out of them the next weekend.

    Those were the days.

Yall old schoolers should check out the new WWE DVD on WCCW and the Von Erichs. Dudes were like rock stars down in Texas. Very interesting and tragic story that the DVD tells about the Von Erichs.

I used to skip church to watch wrestling. My favorite was Superfly Snooka and Hacksaw. and those austrailian guys with the crooked eyes. forgot the name

it probably wasn't real back then but at least it sorta seemed like it was. People used to even argue that it was real...

Now.. it has turned to this...

I now work at a financial company and we have a professional wrestler that works for us. Anybody know the name.. Sal "the big cheese" Corriente?

He recently got into it with Lawler for "real" and now is in some lawsuit. He is a cool dude and actually have known him for years. Was just at Hooters the other day with him. I think he lives in the back cause he's there so much and every girl knows him by his first name. hehe

Ultimate Warrior- looking back now he's so cheesy but as a kid I loved it.

Kerry Von Erich as "Texas Tornado"- His Tornado Punch was awesome and his matches with Mr. Perfect were great.

Razor Ramon- One of my favorite gimmicks

The Rock- my favorite even when he first came out as Rocky Maivia and then the Nation when everyone thought the elbow was the stupidest thing ever.

    Tag Teams

Steiner Brothers- when Rick would come out with his earmuffs and they were reppin Michigan

Legion of Doom- coolest finishing move ever.

Also does anyone remember that WWF Arcade game "WrestleFest"? I remember playing it as a child when I went to Arcade places or skating rinks and I thought it was the coolest effing game ever! The graphics were so realistic looking at the time 1991-1992 that it was unreal. Plus it had all the "Legendary" Wrestlers. I swear I will buy this arcade if I can find it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WWF_WrestleFest

For me, the golden age of rasslin' will be pre-WWF-popularity and specifically the Paul Boesch days of Houston Wrestling. I liked the early WWF, but I blame the WWF for just turning it into utter buffoonery and idiocy with their insane storylines.

Any of you guys remember Abdullah the Butcher? I remembered him when codell talked about bloodbaths. That dude would come into the building bleeding. lol. He had canals on his forehead from cutting himself so much. What's funny is I remember another thread about wrestling in this forum and looked up what Abdullah was doing nowadays. This was about a year or two ago, but apparently he ran a BBQ joint in Georgia or somewhere around there.

I loved the Soviets vs. USA storylines from back in the day. I still remember how pissed off I was when the big strong Minnesota boy Krusher Darsow became communist and teamed with Nikolai Volkoff. I still remember when Superstar Billy Graham was "the body" and was doing poses claiming to have the best body on the planet. Paul Boesch brought Tony Atlas onto the stage to basically show him up. Andre the Giant on Houston Wrestling > Andre the Giant in the WWF. Lots of memories from the 80's and Houston Wrestling; not so much from the WWF and the 90's.

"Here comes the Ax.... Here comes the Smasher.... we're Demolition, a walking disaster................"

What is really shocking about this thread is the number of these guys that have died.

    JYD
    Dino Bravo
    Road Warrior Hawk
    Big Bossman

The list goes on and on.

JYD died in a car accident.

Dino Bravo died by a shooting (from the French Mafia or something like that).

I think those other two died of drug related things.
