Obama winning Iowa is like a 2nd Ramadan!!! A 2nd Hajj!!! This is great news if you are a Republican. Obama simply is not a viable general election politician. No experience, waaaaaay too liberal, Muslim family and background, no legislative accomplishments, no private sector experience (outside of ivory tower academia) whatsoever, and a history of very hard drug use. Iowa's democratics are very far left on the political spectrum. It's no surprise Obama is their guy.
Ya, I just heard the same thing about Edwards -> he needed a solid 2nd place showing, and it just didn't happen.
to me, the story is huckabee, the conservative the republicans really don't want. the guy is everything bush claimed to be. when he's cleaning brush from his property, it won't be a photo op
On the GOP side, this was a major blow to Romney and a boost to McCain and Rudy. Huckabee will NOT get the GOP nod. I predict that if McCain wins New Hampshire decisively, it will be a two-person race between two guys that are buds: McCain and Rudy. Side note: If Romney somehow comes back and wins N.H, the GOP race remains muddled with Romney as the slight favorite.
Translation: Obama is the one candidate Jorge is the most afraid of beating the tar out of huckabee or whatever guy gets the GOP booby prize in November.
Well Jorge is so right about the Iraq and the economy and all, so he's got to be right about Obama. *snicker*
Funny - 3 weeks ago, you said this: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=139425&page=2 As a Republican and a believer in freedom, I hope Hillaroid wins on the lib side so that we can maul her in the General. Funny how whoever wins is "great news for a Republican". I'm sure if Edwards had won, that would have been great for Republicans too.
No, actually I think Edwards has the best chance in the general for the libs. Hillaroid and Obama are fatally flawed. Hillaroid probably moreso than Obama, but Obama is MUCH more flawed than the past two LibLosers, Gore and Kerry.
Look out! -- Democratic caucus turnout shatters record The Iowa Democratic Party released the following turnout information tonight, to be updated later this evening: "With 96 percent of the precincts reporting we are seeing record turnout with 227,000 caucus attendees." In 2004, the turnout was about 125,000 caucus goers. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/01/03/democratic-caucus-turnout-shatters-record/ Obama also surpassed a half million online registered donors today. And I just finished watching Hunk's speech...he's good...
let the spinning continue... out of all the democratic candidates, obama has the most cross over appeal (even though he may be the most liberal and least experienced...)
you may be right. i'd vote for obama long before edwards. however, amongst most of my republican friends, and most of what i've read elsewhere, i'm an anomoly- they'd be likelier to vote for edwards, or one of the third tier candidates, richardson or biden. make of it what you will.
Anyone watching MSNBC? I didn't catch what Keith just said before the commercial break - something about 32, 31, and "may explain Hillary's magnanimity." Anybody?
listening to his victory speech. man he is a great speaker. i think his cross over appeal has to deal w/ him being honest and his willingness to compromise. i dont agree w/ all his positions but i know he wont try to pull a fast on on america.
What do people think Hillary's reaction to this loss will be? Obama better enjoy his day in the sun. It's gonna get ugly. NO TO OBAMA, OSAMA, and CHELSEA'S MOMMA
