i get into the same arguments with the hardcore left wingers and they make me look like the most conservative guy in the room because I believe a simple theory that two airplanes brought down the Towers...

As far as I'm concerned, these people are in the same league as Holocaust Deniers and should be treated as harshly here as the latter group is in Germany.

you don't have to go far to find them either, some 27% of people on this board think 9/11 was an inside job. The left truly has a lot of nutjobs.

bill maher is a great thinker - asks all the right questions, and is spot on, but it does get a bit boring at times. i love how he's willing to call libpigs out too.

I the IDEA of Government involvement in something like that
    is so terrifying that
THE IDEA must be belittled, beat down and denied with the Absolute Certainty.
    Otherwise. . .we might have to admit . . . .
Like the Van Halen Video said. . . OUR GOVERNMENT IS DOING THINGS WE ONLY THINK OTHER GOVERNMENTS DO

I disagree... I think many people would agree we're torturing people for information, spying on us illegally, working towards overthrowing Irans leadership covertly. All sorts of nasty things, but it's still a long ways from our own government bringing down the towers.

The argument that we knew it was going to happen, yet did nothing to stop it, goes a lot further in my opinion. I don't think it's true that Bush and company knew, but showing leadership simply failed to "connect the dots" is the impossible proving a negative.

And this is supposed to mean... what? What, exactly, is a "libpig?" I know pigs are supposed to have a certain amount of intelligence, although I disagree with those who believe them to be more intelligent than dogs, but what I didn't know was that they possessed a political ideology.

And how, exactly, does "The Left" have a "lot of nutjobs." Is The Left heavily involved in the nut industry? We raise a lot of pecans in areas close to Austin, to the east. Austin is known to be the liberal bastion of Texas. Certainly, it's one of the reasons I've lived here for the last 27 years. Frankly, I didn't realize it was a major employer. Learn something new everyday.

Libpigs just beat their insane agenda - like 9/11 was an inside job, that we are to blame for 9/11, the child molesters are really to product of society, that nuclear power is evil, that big corporations are evil, that business is evil, that suburbinites are rubes, that farenheit 911 and inconvenient truth are actually true, that terrorists are really freedom fighters, that anyone who waves a flag is evil, and having to say the pledge is a violation of freedom.

There are many many more things...

I like Maher because he tells it like it is. He's a liberal, yes, but not a loon. I actually disagree with him quite a bit, but he still has a great show and is very clever political satirist, although much of what he does is also serious stuff.

    Love his show...

Deckard, I have a lot of respect for you, but even you would have to agree that there is a significant 'nutjob' minority within the left. I come across them all the time, and many of them (sadly enough) are in academia, where 'factual' evidence is supposed to trump ideology.

I don't like Bill Maher's pompous attitude, nor do I like his hootin and hollerin audience. It's funny that he'd get pissed when some of his fans speak their mind instead of the usual cheering of his words and the booing of his opponents. In the clip, he even acknowledges some of his loopier fans and the hyperbole he spews out.

He has a right to get pisssed...I mean he's running a show, his show and people are just acting disorderly and yelling live on the air?

Anyway, yea, he is pompous and some stuff I disagree with, but for the most part, I'm down with what he says, especially the religious aspects. He calls out both parties, so it's not like he's completely biased. He just happens to agree more with the left than the right.

And they typically own an owl and look like this:

    (and... yes. This is Fatty.)

Say what you want about Maher, or Dennis Miller. When they are right, I'll give them kudos. The post earlier by Maher was dead on and quite frankly respectable.

I know I won't get along with everything people say, but I'll acknowledge when people do so.

Honestly, Liberals need to understand that, other than actually screaming impeachment or justice or peace.

If y'all would actually acknowledge what Bush did well, and chastise him for what he didn't do well, Kerry could've possibly been our President.

Sadly, your faction isn't open to compromise, which is why it will almost always lose.

Peace in the world is a definite possibility, but it'll take several wars to make it occur. If you don't understand that, you don't pay attention to history.

Maher is a libertarian. But he is a libertarian leaning toward liberalism.

In context, Ron Paul is a libertarian, but he leans toward the conservative party.
