Won't you be at the Fest till late? The food there isn't bad...and you'll need to be eating something with all that beer. Just don't hit the lines during peak times. I like Hudson's cones (chicken or avocado), and of course many would consider the Salt Lick (not my favorite BBQ, though).

there are some good mexican restaurants on south 1st, which is close to acl - polvos comes to mind.

curras on oltorff is my favorite mexican restaurant in town - interior style and they have really good avacado margaritas - it may sound nasty, but trust me, they are good (and im not even a big avacoado fan).

guerros on south congress - very trendy and usually busy, but there is a reason for it - good fish tacos (no, not that kind you perv!). but they do have good hair pies!

24 hour spots - magnolia cafe (congress) / kirby lane (s. lamar) - both are good, and kirby does better breakfast, but im a little more partial to magnolia - bbq enchiladas!

threadgills is close to acl, but its going to be busy as hell there - drive up to manor road, just east of i-35 and go to hoovers - its better anyway. good southern comfort food. best chicken fried chicken and meatloaf in town.

iron works bbq on first st. - downtown.

if you want some really good bbq and dont mind driving 30 minutes out of town, take 183 south to lockhart and hit up blacks bbq - best pork ribs ive ever had and their brisket is right up there too.

also, close to acl is whole foods - there are about 8 restaurants inside that store. you can eat pretty much whatever you want there. if you are a whole foods shopper and havent been to this store, its worth checking out.

BBQ: Iron Works (Best BBQ IMO), Rudy's, County Line

    Mexican: Chuy's, Trudy's

24 Hour Chinese Resteraunt (right next to ACL exit): Wan Fu

Shady Grove is quite popular as well, not a huge fan of their food though.

KERBEY LANE (http://www.kerbeylanecafe.com/). Get Kerbey Queso, and thank me later. And I know it seems weird, but just have them serve it how it's served. Mix it up. Trust me.

Fine food or atmosphere, just want a good experience.

Also.... My gf is only 20, what is there to do that is not acl, and not 21 and up. Nothing difficult to arrange, just something we could do tonight, or Sunday.

Don't forget the Eastside Cafe on Manor Road!

Polvos I like much. Enchiladas de la Casa... mmm...

    the Mag Mud at Magnolia...

    damn I miss Austin.

P.S. The Lockhart BBQ is all good - but the Salt Lick in Dripping Springs is still my favorite.
