For almost 20 years I lived and died with how the Oilers played the previous Sunday.

I remember my Dad taking me to the store to get an Earl Campbell jersey 5 minutes before the 78 Steelers game started because he couldn't bare the thought of me watching the game without wearing blue.

That same year, I got in a fight with a kid wearing a Steelers hat to school. I was in the 5th grade.

When they left, I was very upset. Then I moved on with my life...

Then the Texans got here and my passion for the NFL came back. I don't care enough about Bud Adams or his team to even be bitter anymore. I've moved on.

    Go Texans!

    The Comeback (American football)

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

For other uses of "The Comeback", see The Comeback (disambiguation).
In American football, "The Comeback" refers to the January 3, 1993 NFL playoff game between the Buffalo Bills and the Houston Oilers, one of the most memorable NFL games ever played.

Played in Buffalo's outdoor home of Rich Stadium, the Bills, led by quarterback Frank Reich and wide receiver Andre Reed, overcame a 32-point deficit to win the game in overtime. This represents the largest comeback in NFL history.

Yep, and don't forget Dan Neil and BJ Symons. ;) I graduated in 88. I was at Moore Elementary (home of the Fighting Armadillos) the first year it opened.

I think it's Ric that has a great Ian Howfield story.

Hey man...I just wanted to apologize for not getting back to you with anything regarding the site. I still plan on helping out, but I've been going through some pretty rough personal issues over the last month and a half or so.

You're probably right. I've tried, over the years, to erase that game (and the whole day for that matter) from my memory. ;)

I lived in Hunters Valley right next to Lakewood. I didn't play football at Cy Creek. I was a band-geek, but I hung out with a lot of football players. Cy Creek had a pretty good program until all the new high schools robbed them of their talent pool.

What was your wife's maiden name? I'll see if I remember her. If not, maybe you could post some pics.

OK, that last part was a joke. ;)

That's freaking classic! If you ever hear from little Ian again, tell him we can hook him up with someone at sales over at Scholastic or Websters! Dude needs another class or twelve on grammar and the English language!

John Henry went to the Raiders for a bit, but is still in town, and is a friend of mine, although the last time I saw him out a couple weeks ago, he got pissed at me for talking to his girlfriend.

Yep, I knew Jason. I spent the night at his house many times and we played his drums until the neighbors called to complain. I vaguely remember his little brother. It was a real shame what happened to Jason... very sad...

Was her first name Amy? I'll look in my yearbook when I get home. Maybe we should continue this through email instead of boring everyone else with it. ;)

OK, back on topic.... I've shared WAY too much on this site for the day.

That Ian Howfield story was HIL-ARIOUS. I still remember seeing him being interviewed the day after and he was crying like a little girl who lost her Mom at the mall. At the time, I felt bad for him. After reading that article, not so much.....
