If rockets team target of this season be 1st round play off, I'll say JVG is a good coach. If target be 2nd round play off, I'll say JVG is average. If target aiming West conference finals or the Finals, I'll say JVG is not the right coach to trust in. :)

He's OK for the rockets. But we still need a better coach.

There couldn't be a better time for Mister Van Gundy to spend more time with his family. The time is now.

    Sorry!

Juwan is busy handling PF duties for Rockets.

And Ryan Bowen found another man.

Family time will have to wait.

I voted Nay until he starts playing Bonzi, Novak and Spanoulis. Seriously, Novak is just as good, maybe better than Padgett, and VSPAN is need for late game energy, and Bonzi just speaks for himself.

I am shocked this poll is so close. By posts on this forum I figured the JVG supporters would swamp the naysayers.

I am a fan. I support this team- therefore I support this coach. I do not see a really good alternative available right now better than Van Gundy. I like Adelman AND Mario Elie, but we have Van Gundy here now, with players put together by he and CD. These players are a good mix of veterans and young players - not as old as 2 seasons ago-plying the Mavericks in the playoffs.

We would lose a lot of time firing Van Gundy, hiring a new coach, then time for him to fine tune the roster.

I support this team- so I support this coach.

Yay. JVG is doing quite a decent job with this team. considering we are notroiusly slow starters, to be 6-4 after an extremly difficult schedule in which we probably versed the "big 4" (San Antonio, Dallas, Miami, Detroit) and the best tema in the league right now (Utah) a 6-4 record is not that bad. Yes we shouldve beaten the Spurs and yes we probably should have beaten New Orleans but to still be 6-4 after losing 2 games that we shouldve won is very good. At this rate we are travelling at just under 50 wins for the year which is nothign to bauk at, and remeber we are only going to get better :D

Told you: what a difference a night makes. The fact that the fans want JVG gone while he has a winning record proves how unpopular he really is, at least with the fans.

I am tired of JVG, I find him obtuse.

Look at Jerry Sloan playing two 2nd year players, and 3 rookies in his rotation.

JVG is too afraid to try new stuff, he sticks to his comfort zone.

I think we need players that are not afraid to gamble, but by the same token we need coaches who are that way too.

Rudy played Sam Cassell his rookie year, and look how that worked out.

JVG is a good coach, but not a great one.

JVG knows he is playing for his job, and is therefore too conservative.....I want someone who is willing to gamble a bit.

    Bring back Rudy T !

JVG is quickly running out of excuses, and more and more people realize it. Maybe he is preparation genius, you need more than that to be head coach. Maybe the time for a change is now.
