He doesn't deserve sh*t. I'll treat him the same as he does his rookies. If he can't earn my respect by showing some coaching talent or profiency (or at least the ability to change his style to suit what's available) when shorthanded, then I'm sure as hell not going to give him extra leeway with a full roster.

I'm tired of his style and I'm tired of seeing my team get their asses kicked late in the game because the other team has made adjustments and JVG hasn't countered. That's just sh*tty coaching. Ship him out.

Doesn't matter you are trying to backpedal now and put blame on others for the racial stuff you brought in the first place. This thread was doing just fine until you started your Chinese flaming bait and stereotype. Everyone with basic reading skilll can see for himself.

Clutch, once again I urge you to show you are in full control by banning NewYorker from posting in GARM. This guy doesn't belong here.

    Its true.

I mean, its not like its happened just now, everyone knows about it, it happened like 5 times in the last 6 games.

Man, I dunno if I wanna watch the NY game now, I can just see Crawford torching us for 20 points in the 4th.

I am still waiting for NewYorker to admit that he was dumb to say "why do all the Chinese posters hate JVG?".

Well, I guess it takes a man to admit a mistake. :p

can the Rockets just demote JVG to an assistant defensive coach and hire Adelman as the main coach? the one that plays Bonzi Wells and can run a passing team? the one that calls the shots? but i feel if that happened, Gundy's ego wouldn't be able to take it and he'd just quit. again...

Impossible. Could you tell an example of a head coach got demoted/fired and then agreed to be an assistant coach?

How the hell people would think Adelman is better than JVG is totally beyond me.
Based on what? Past record in King?

I can't find a better coach available in the market.
So he is the 'best' coach for us right now, even he definite is not the best coach.
I think we have to live with it.

if you must know, Adelman has taken the Blazers to the finals twice, and the Kings to the WCF once, the second round twice even with injuries to CWebb. it's not his fault that Phil Jackson is a better coach, but for the next couple years, Phil Jackson will not be coaching a championship contender, although the Lakers currently have a better record than the Rockets and it's not out of reason that they might even finish ahead of them this season.

if Gundy can't even get the Rockets to a top 4 seed (1/8th into the season, the Rockets are in freakin 8th place  ) by the All-Star break, he needs to be canned. he is not the type of coach that has a magical switch that he can flip in the postseason and have his team play winning basketball.

Maybe we should allure Phil Jackson for the possibility of coaching a championship team. :D

Maybe Mike Fratello will become available, given how bad Memphis is doing. Do you think Fratello will be better than Van Gundy or not?

Adelman has been to the finals TWICE. On one of the trips, had it not been for Jordan's Bulls, his team was within 1 win of game 7 in finals.

Besides Spurs, Adelman's kings gave PJ's lakers the hardest time.

In fact, the only thing that kept Kings from wining the WCF, dispatching the Lakers in Game 6 and 7, and then easily winning the Finals was Dick Bavetta.

That series (especially late in games!) and Rocket-Dallas series of 2 years ago are 2 of the most r****ded officiated games of all time.

Besides his coaching success...his coaching style fits Tmac/Yao skillsets on offense.

Not to mention his offense emphasizes motion offense.

Which will be very useful on this Rockets team. Since they lack another creator, the motion offense will create offense, while Tmac and Yao do less work.

Rockets can basically coast for 3 quarters on motion offense and then in 4th quarter, Yao and Tmac can still be isolated when need be.

Less stress on Yao/Tmac. More unpredictable offense which defenses will have a hard time preparing for.

    NO!!!!!!

He is an inferior version of JVG. Similar style. JVG is more intense.

Phil Jackson 2 summers ago already said he wanted to coach the ROckets with Tmac and Yao.

But instead of extending a warm welcome to him, Rockets Owner Leslie Alexander extended JVG's contract right after that.

Alexander is a bonehead for missing that opportunity.

If a 9 time NBA champion coach is ASKING to be hired to coach your time over a 0 time NBA champ, you lay down the red carpet for him.

ESPECIALLY, if all 9 rings have come because he used 2 superstars to get them and the last 3 with superstars with SIMILAR games to your superstars.

edc added some humor to a "jvg should leave" post. good for you! yeah, edc! It's best to keep your humor during an 82 game season.

i know a lot of you think we're just hating on JVG b/c we lost the game... but in all sincerety, i don't think JVG is the right coach for this team. he isn't adaptive, he only plays who he thinks works the hardest. but sometimes, in order to win, you have to go out on a limb and play the more talented players. he doesn't do this. so call me wrong or whatever, but i think d'antoni or someone like don nelson would be better for our squad.
