What exactly do you expect them to do against 1,500,000,000 people?

They ignored the insults and did not riot in the streets as the Muslims did over their cartoon caper.

As a very moderate moslim, i like to think i am moderate, i found it to be extremly distastefull and out of line. however, free speech, should be a given right to everyone. if ahmadinejad is allowed to question the clear genocide commited by the nazi's, the danish cartoons should also be allowed. right or wrong.

Many arabs have made stupid of accusations of 9-11 being staged by the jews. or how the us goverment was involved. well, noone is trying to kill them ?... freedom of speech.

People aren't ignoring/dismissing the cartoons because they are afraid of the president of Iran, or because they are afraid of 1.5 billion Muslims, as ROckets03 intimated, but because they realize that they are ****ing cartoons that say much more about the artists and their patrons than they say about their subjects. There are no massive protests in the streets, and there are certainly no violent outbursts. It isn't because the cartoons are less offensive, but because those who are offended live in civilized societies where we don't call for people to be killed because they make art in poor taste, be is Mohammed cartoons, holocaust cartoons, the Virgin Mary covered in elephant crap, or a crucifix floating in piss.

A great post blazer_ben, and I think Ahmednijad has his answer regarding western hypocrisy. While the cartoons have been found to be almost universally offensive they have been tolerated and any protests against them has been peaceful.

Interesting thread....so now....here's a question that's going to cause controversy:

Why is it that Jews didn't react violently to very offensive cartoons, but Muslims did?
