1-2 would be the worst case scenario so that's probably how this will go. If Houston sweeps then it probably certifies them as buyers and getting swept casts real doubt.
Meh. You can’t read but my comments in that vein almost always include words like “probabiy” or “likely”. Nothing has changed for certain but the outcomes of these games have definitely affected their odds of buying/selling at the deadline. Houston has consistently flirted with death since their 8 game losing streak early in the season. They’ve done just enough to avoid being buried. They’ve also gotten a shitload of help from the Mariners and Rangers.
Differential CHI +44 HOU -45 Only SIX wins separate these teams yet almost 100 runs... smh. - Arrighetti is too hot-cold too predict. - Hunter needs to pitch better or he's probably injured. - Blanco looking to convert Ks into fewer Rs... or just fewer runs. Series WIN balances a previous split-loss ala Brewers or Twins. Balance and progress.

They do always include "probably" or "likely". And none of the previous series have affected much at all - so the "likely" keeps coming up not every series. People were even claiming little stretches in May would determine the future of the team and how it should approach the rest of the season. I think you gave up on the team multiple times this season and determined they should be sellers (and vice-versa). It's likely that, regardless of the outcome of this series, they will be good enough to argue they should be buyers and bad enough to argue they shouldn't be. See the Red Sox for an example of how quickly things can change such that a couple of games are not going to drive a team's decision-making. Major injuries would change things, but W's or L's these next 3 games won't do much of anything.
