Unrelated, but I can't hear that phrase without thinking of this scene.

I don’t disagree. Summer Euroball for Alpi hasn’t necessarily translated into NBA season success.

Acting like they are teaching some new amazing trick.

"Now pay attention Top 5 greatest offensive player of all time, I've got something here you've never even SEEN before in your 18 years in the NBA. Bounce the ball behind your leg and NO ONE could ever get to it (except of course the defender on the other side of your leg since youre getting double teamed each time you get the ball) then do this crazy move of turning around and going the opposite direction, then do a pull up jumper. Boom!
    That will be $20,000."

It's absolute insanity. I understand the kids doing it, they're hardly experts and especially with people like Jalen and Amen who are basically handicapped by their lack of fundamentals, they don't know any better so they don't question it and just throw their money away on these nonsense drills. KD though? The dude lives and breathes ball. Nobody who isn't a Hall of Famer can teach that man anything he doesn't already know, and most of them can't either.

That would be Adam Harrington. He and KD have been working out for years - probably hooked up when they were in OKC(?). Harrington was an assistant coach/shooting coach there and elsewhere in the NBA after a cup of tea in the NBA as a player/scrub. The interesting connection between the two can be found in KD idolizing Dirk growing up and the rest is in this story : https://www.espn.com/blog/dallas/ma...217/kevin-durants-secret-weapon-dirk-nowitzki.

TL;DR (though it's a good read) : Harrington studied Dirk's shooting coach's training techniques and KD wanted to emulate Dirk's game, so KD hired Harrington years ago as the "next best thing" and has been working with him since.

And let's face it, they're not holding a gun to his head, so he must be getting something from it. But knowing KD, he's just willing to go anywhere there's a basketball and work on his game.

Seriously why did Alpi just go one time? He can easily afford Dream's rates, he should just lock himself in a the gym all summer learning both offense AND defense from Dream.

Even beyond that, he's actively seeking him out. If KD was only willing to learn from people who had close to or better accolades than him as a scorer it'd be a very short list.

Because he's not really about it like that. Alpy strikes me as a guy that feels he has already "made it". Signed a big extension, made the All Star Game, etc. He doesn't have that borderline insane competitive edge that other players have, like Wemby or Giannis, or Kobe. I bet you the Rockets sending trainers to Sengun in Turkey was the Rockets idea, not Sengun's.

As much as I hate to admit it, I have a feeling you're probably right on that one.

now I see why he stays fat and slow. His body doesn’t change. One summer he was practicing in Turkey at some garage, hoop was like 8 feet and the ceiling was close to 8.5. Looked strange haha.

That's probably where people kept getting the idea he'd grown. They were just seeing him on some tiny ass Euro court with the wrong measurements lol

Good to know he's in the gym a lot. He'll get pushed around a lot less.
