at this point division doesnt matter… BE THE BEST AMONGST ALL THE COMPETITION OR DONT PLAY THE GAME. LMFAO at the fact they open the roof on Friday nights as a fan-fireworks service. This entire franchise is a joke— they cant compete & theyre worse than a Cushing shell of whathas been of their glory years. bottom line: your Houston Astros suck. Its a known and given fact. Joe cant help it, Dana cant save it, Jim cant fix it. WhereTF you at McInvale? I’d rather Jim listen to Geoff or Josh instead of Jeff at this point… FIX THIS **** AND STOP BEING FVCKING PVSSIES ABOUT IT.
Trading Christian Walker for a younger left handed hitting outfielder is a top priority. Isaac Paredes was pitched around on purpose to get Christian Walker the easier out, swing and a miss, holes in his swing.
Maybe time to send King down to Sugar Land and bring up Ullola. That 90 mph fastball is looking mighty similar to Burrows' 4 seam fastball.
I was so excited over Walker's batting early in the season. Now I feel like I'm watching last year's season again. I don't get it. He's only had 7 hits in his last 39 times at the plate. Choking with bases loaded then choking to end the game just stinks.
I wonder how much salary the Astros would have to eat to find a trading partner for Walker or Javier. We're going the opposite direction of getting to .500
I think in hindsight it should have been obvious that this team’s playoff hopes were totally reliant on Cam Smith and Yainer Diaz taking big steps forward offensively. Altuve is washed, Walker is a streaky complementary player (the rough equivalent to what McCann was on the 2017 team), and Pena and Paredes are more like Yuli and Reddick level hitters rather than Springer and Bregman level hitters. Things might be slightly different if Correa hadn’t gotten hurt. But this team is 2 elite hitters away from being consistently good. I’m fine with them standing pat or buying lite, but this team has almost no chance of winning a pennant.
They have to do something with King other than putting him in a close game. Guy is guaranteed to give up 2 or 3 runs.
This team is bad, they've been bad all season. These last 2 losses should have bothered me, but they don't. It's like all the losses from 2011-2014. I know a proper sell isnt happening, but I hope we at the least don't waste any truly valuable assets on this team.
Cam not progressing. Diaz regressing. Altuve regressing. Correa injured. Pena mostly injured. Paredes regressing. Meyers regressing. Matthews AAAA Loperfido AAAA (although he should be playing big leagues IMO) Astros could have survived most of those.... but not 7, 8, ALL. Astros have no emerging hitters. Nothing new, just old mess.
Yea, that’s the script, but I wouldn’t label Altuve regressing, in the technical definition. He’s not going back to an earlier/previous **** version of himself. No, unfortunately, this is the start of the proverbial descent, fathe4 time, blah blah, but its gotten ugly quicker than I’d expected. Jose’s always been streaky, but any moment you knew he was going to go on a month-long heater and look like the HOFer no pitcher in MLB could get out. Those days are gone. He’ll flash occasionally, but that’s it. At least the last two years are manageable, but who cares not my money. The news today has both sides of course saying they’re willing to sit out games. That’s a 30M loss for Altuve if they sit. Ouch.
Bro... that's regression. Then the next line.... "ugly quicker than expected". Lol. I understand it hurts to say out loud.
Walker 1 for 12 the last 3 games with 8 K’s. That’s the WalKKKKKer I know. And he’ll be back next year to suck again.
