A ground invasion would play right into Iran's hands.... The only reason for a ground invasion by the Trump admin is some election gambit where they can greatly reduce turnout by making up some excuse.

I'm not sure a ground invasion makes it any easier to declare martial law or some crap, versus just "being at war" and lobbing missiles and destroying bridges and making up threats like "they are trying to assassinate me!"

If he launches a ground invasion, and we do have real midterm elections, it will be a Congressional bloodbath for the ruling party. People (other than our own basso maybe) want no part of a sending troops to die in Persia.

Jesus H, I hope somebody talks some sense into him. Won't be Mr. "give 'em testerone!" drunk frat guy -- that's for sure.

IMO thats what the 'cuba war' is reserved for unfortunately. Cuba has the 'capabilities' to reach america mainland, while iran has no chance (we know iran threat to america existance/safety is a lie right?). Much easier to declare martial law, restrict movement and control narrative if the threat is directly on US soil.

Iran has taken a real shellacking over the last 24-48 hours. We are blowing up civilian infrastructure and logistics and Iran responds by hitting our bases across the Gulf.

But ultimately, Iran will likely not be able to survive the destruction to when any real economic harm from the strait staying closed would be realized.

Trump keeps spending billions and billions and billions and billions and billions and billions on this war and other BS left and right, all while his dumbass cult followers keep believing he is making their lives better. He doesn't give a damn what most Americans want and need. I bet tonight at least one lie spews out of his dirty mouth every 30 seconds.

By bombing civilian infrastructure in Iran we are rallying the country around the irgc. We've seen this playbook a million times. We aren't going to bomb them into submission without mutual destruction

Last night was fairly destructive. Kuwait won’t survive.

This entire war is out of sight and out of mind for most of us. I don't have the bandwidth to keep up with this admin's shenanigans on even a weekly basis. This is who the majority thought would right the ship and bring inflation down, smdh. #DraftMAGA1st

Gee, I wonder why this admenstruation is now going after the International Criminal Court?

I mean, the ICC's primary role is to investigate and prosecute individuals accused of the world's most serious atrocities: genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and the crime of aggression.

    My guess is this....

The Trump administration is seeking the ability to kill, bomb, and destroy around the world without fear of ever being held accountable for it.

    Which enables this...

Moreover, by attacking the ICC as an institution, it wants to enable other countries to murder, sack, and pillage without fear or hesitation. The true goal is not national sovereignty or self-government, but personal criminal impunity.

    How it started...

Eighty years ago, in the German city of Nuremberg, Justice Robert H. Jackson delivered his opening remarks at the first true international tribunal for war crimes. Nothing like it had ever existed before, he noted, but humanity had no choice but to create it. “The wrongs which we seek to condemn and punish have been so calculated, so malignant, and so devastating, that civilization cannot tolerate their being ignored, because it cannot survive their being repeated,” he told the court.

Reports of the US military attacking civilian water plants in Iran, and Iran responding in kind by attacking water treatment plants in Kuwait.

    Both are war crimes.

And no, the IRGC aren't going to stop just because their civilians can't access drinking water.

Given that the US didn't cross this redline before, why now? It's as if the POTUS did a U-turn, from an MOU to restarting this war, because someone told him he's a target for assassination

    War crimes:

The leader who orders the attack on civilian water plants.

The military personnel who carry out the attack.
