damn man I'm sorry to hear that, but glad you're alive. Hope the recovery goes quickly and with the least pain possible. I've had a couple of minor things done - vasectomy wasn't bad. The discectomy (removal of part of a bulging disk in my back) was so freaking worth it as I felt 90% better the very next day. The worst I had was a hernia repair in 2000. I still have a 6 inch scar on my lower abdomen where they sliced me open. Took 6 weeks until I could resume playing softball or skating again. Still, I was home that evening so the actual operation wasn't too bad. Doesn't compare to what you just went through though. Don't push the recovery - if the Doc says not to do something, don't do it. You may feel 100% recovered, but that doesn't mean you really are 100% recovered.
I don’t know if I’d call it major but it wasn’t minor. Spinal fusion. Honestly the worst part was the stomach pains because they went through my stomach and had to move all that **** out the way to get to the spine…
Glad to hear you are doing better, ima. I just turned 53 so I think the older you get, the more likely you will have some type of surgery - for me, I have had the following: Wisdom teeth taken out in the fall of 2000 TWO vasectomies - one in summer of 2006 and the other in the spring of 2009 Vasectomy reversal in January of 2008 Open compound fracture of left humerus in May of 2012 Been lucky that has been it although my spinal discs are thinning and I will probably have to have surgery to fix that.
When I met my ex-wife 20 years ago, she made me think that she didn't want to have children. She wouldn't go on birth control or have her tubes tied and I refused to wear a condom, so I opted for a vasectomy. Then about 6 months later, she had a major mea culpa and wished that we could have children. So I did the reversal and it didn't take long to work as my son was born early 2009. As soon as we knew he was normal, I had another vasectomy done, haha.
