Free agent guard Gary Trent Jr. has agreed to a four-year, $64 million deal to stay with the Milwaukee Bucks, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul and agent Lucas Newton tells ESPN.

Man this guys earnings have been weird as hell.

He had one down, but still pretty good, season in Toronto and somehow ended up on the NBA scrap heap making 2 million. Now coming off statistically the worst season of his career on a losing team he secures this bag.

In hindsight, methinks there's something fishy with the deal he signed 2 years ago. Money promised under the table if you sign cheap now.

That’s a great deal for Gary but it’s a bad deal for the bucks

I would say the tank is on, but Portland has all their picks. We need to get in on this somehow. I sure hope Portland has a hard-on for Kd.

Probably the most obvious cap circumvention contract in league history.

This has happened throughout league history, especially back when you could get Bird rights after 1 season. The Rockets did it with Mo Taylor and he got hurt right after signing the second deal. Sometimes it looks especially shady. Danny Manning tore his ACL on a suspicious one year deal when a lot of guys didn't come back the same after that injury and Phoenix still gave him a good contract. Reggie Jackson had one a couple of years ago with the Nuggets that was sketchy. I think Corliss Williamson claimed he had a wink wink with the Kings and they reneged after Peja ascended. Minnesota with Joe Smith was exceptional because they put it in writing so basically they had to eat crap for every other team who'd done this.

This one is the most egregious ever. Trent last season was basically replacement level. He'd probably still have a spot in the league but probably around the league minimum.

    Nosferatu is on the case.

This is the Bucks - so maybe they get absolutely crushed like the T-Wolves were -- gives perfect cover for Balmer to get off lightly.

    Rich Paul is dirty.

"I made a few phone calls walking to lunch at Katz Deli from the NBA offices. Rich Paul denies he did anything. I texted the agent for Gary and he said Gary is a saint. So - over a corned beef and matza ball, I decided there is nothing to this. Investigation concluded. Don't forget that we have Filipino Asexual heritage pride month coming up in the NBA. Each team will have a special festive Filipino inspired jersey they will wear." - NBA Vampire Commissioner Adam Silver

I want a full investigation on the Rockets & FVV after paying him $140mil over the past 4 years. 4/64 isn't a bad deal compared to what we've paid Fred

Maybe its what the Bucks had to pay to retain a veteran presence the organization likes during a rebuild

What are you talking about? 1. It's not your money. 2. It's not Fred's fault for getting hurt. 3. Yes, Fred was paid handsomely for his first two years here, but he more than earned it for the contributions he made to the team both on and off the court. $25m would have been a bargain last year had he not gotten hurt.

The Bucks are being investigated for circumventing the salary cap, which has nothing to do with what the Rockets and FVV.

Lol I was just trying to make a little joke about how much we pay Fred. I don’t really know the story behind it. Thought Bucks were just giving a vet they liked a unreasonable contract to eat up the required 90% cap space or whatever while they rebuild and the league didn’t like it
