Dick riding as you call it is expected from Trump. He screens his choices for positions of power on their pledge to do just that. From Vance to Hegseth, Kash, Bondi, Noem, Blanche, RFK Jr, Rubio, his press secretaries, and everyone else that's pretty clear. They have no backbones. They are just puppets.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if Epstein was connected to Mossad. But, I still don't believe Vance at all.

I don't know how anyone can believe or trust anything this bizarro weirdo says -- he lacks any real emotions and has to program them all before he delivers them in his stupid little speeches that he gives and acts like they are not staged.

There's no way this isn't a calculated, intentional release by Vance. He didn't just throw it out there off the cuff or by accident.

Not 100% sure what he's calculatingly trying to accomplish, but he has some goal in saying this.

 

If he wants to be the heir to "America First" in 2028, then he needs to distance himself from Iran and Israel however he can. As @Nook points out, it just doesn't come off as sincere.

I truly wonder why he decided to tie himself to Trump instead as VP instead of staying in the Senate and then running in 2028.

 

The problem is, the one demographic who is still in the tank for Israel, is the MAGA Evangelical types that he's going to need to win over. They still believe that anything less than total uncritical support for whatever Israel wants is a deal breaker. They are must-win in the primary stage for the Republican party if he wants to actually get past the primaries.

Maybe he thinks he's going to win people in the middle? (lol, the stink (figurative... maybe literal too) from close association with Trump will follow him for the rest of his days). He's dead to more than half of the electorate. The only route forward for anybody in this administration is maintain, or even lean into the extremism and all the other stuff that the rest of us hate about Trump.

 

He underperformed in his Senate race. He would be just another guy if Trump hadn't picked him out of a lineup. Whoever Trump picked as his VP was always going to be the frontrunner for the 2028 nomination. Except maybe Doug Burgum.

 

Fair point but this is JD Vance on Rogan. Politicians like JD tweak the message for their audience so I would expect JD Vance to go on Fox & Friends saying "Israel is an important US ally, but we need to make sure our resources are being used appropriately in the region".

Seems like it's the Trump strategy of having your old based pinch their nose and vote while shoring up the edges.

 

He has the backing of Peter Thiel and that Silicon Valley cohort, he's not just another guy. They've been grooming him

 

He has the tact of a cactus. He has some tools in his work box - good in debates, is a policy wonk and can bully those that are unsure of themselves.

However, that is as far as it goes. He doesn’t have a 6th sense for reading the mood or direction of the people. He just goes around aimlessly doing weird little planned vignettes that he tries to claim are spontaneous. From the debate - to confronting the President of Ukraine - to his comments to NATO .... and now this nonsense.

He doesn't see the forest through the trees, he just knows that he wants power and to be surrounded by people that think that they are better than the proletariat masses that need to be governed by a czar. He and Peter Thiel both are clueless.
