Reed CAN run the point. Ime's teams are not Reed's play style. He deserves to be traded to a team that lets him play to his strengths.
That's correct. Fred not only tore his ACL but also his meniscus. It said here that many don't fully recover until year 2. We may be facing another DFS. Professional basketball players average ~12 months before competitive return, and many don’t regain pre-injury explosive first-step quickness until their second full season
Assuming everyone's healthy, I think the Rocket's backup point guard will be Alperen Sengun when FVV is off the court.
Agree. Hopefully, the Heat trades for him, and Spo can make him run the point. And as a couple of veteran stars pointed out last season, Ime's offense doesn't need a pg when it is more like bring the ball up, look for Durant or Sengun and hand them the ball, then stay in the corner. Even FVV mostly played this style when he would dribble the ball up, hand it to Sengun or Jalen, then get out of the way. He would drive from time to time, but it was the same Ime style offense. This team will win many games in the regular season primarily due to outworking their opponents but would falter again in the playoffs if Ime remains the coach.
Sources are saying Ime is going with a BBL Lineup to close out games. Full court post up drills are being done daily. Back up for 94 feet and score buckets. Capela Sengun Smart Thornton Fvv
I’m not even that high on Reed, but LOL Y’all really out here falling for a 4 year college player 2nd round pick playing well in freaking SL? the most likely outcome by far is that he’s a scrub with a short NBA career if he’s ever competing with Reed Sheppard for anything, then Reed needs to just hang it up because that means he’s fried…that he’s cooked
Y’all need to relax. Thornton gonna be the next Josh Christopher or TyTy Washington of Clutchfans. Stop it
Both Amen and Reed had higher assist to TO ratios than Smart last year. Smart rarely ran pnr on the Lakers but he was slightly ahead of Reed in pnr efficiency, but he ran it quite a bit less. I cant remember who said it, but someone said the Rockets view Smart as more of an Okogie replacement with more playmaking and ball handling. I think Reed and Amen will still do quite a bit of the ball handling when Fred isnt on the floor.
Marcus is the 6th man. However for the backup backup pg I think Thornton pulls a shocker because he is a better defender than Reed, unless Reed suddenly takes another leap this offseason.
If Reed could run point we wouldn’t have been 29th? In turnovers and had repeated epic collapses last season. He’s a shooter and secondary playmaker
