[Charania] The Warriors initial offseason plan was to pair Curry and Draymond with LeBron and Anthony Davis. With them being unable to trade for AD so far, I think they believe LeBron isn't coming there
Washington Wizards!!!! Cavs though. Question: When was the last time . . .. when he was in the EAST . . . .. did he not go to the finals? Rocket River
[Charania] The teams that are currently the leading suitors to sign superstar free agent LeBron James: Cleveland, Miami, Golden State, Philadelphia, and Minnesota. [Charania] “It’s decision time for LeBron James because all the information for the most part is in.”
Draymond Green and Bob Myers have gone overtly public with the press about how great a fit LeBron would be with their teams, perhaps in an act of desperation. I have doubts they are being legit considered. The quietest teams have been the Cavs, Heat and T-Wolves.
During the bulls first three peat the only first team all nba player they played in east was Mark Price… east has just been historically worse. No different from when Bron played or when Jordan played. During the second three peat he played Penny and Tim Hardaway. No world beaters there either. Hakeem, Barkley, drexler, Malone, Stockton, Robinson, Payton, and Shaq at the end were all out west…
First off, that stat isn't even true. I only looked up the first few years, but in 2008, he faced Garnett. In 2009, he faced Howard. 2012, he faced Durant. 2013, Duncan. Who knows how many more after that. (Edit: He also faced Curry multiple times in there, as well as Durant with GS again) But beyond that, it wouldn't be surprising or unusual to not face many. There are only 5 first team all-NBA players and he's one of them, so that leaves only 4 possibilities. If you're a high seed, you're probably playing a 6-8 seed in the first round, so probably not facing one there. And at least half are likely in the west, so you could only face those in the years you made the finals. So realistically, you're probably pretty lucky to face one in a single postseason.
??? hakeem ended up with Toronto. Payton ended up with Miami Robinson / Stockton never left their original team both Drexler/Malone's original team were from the West
I was responding to a post about first team all nba players being in west. It’s always been like that as the east has traditionally been weaker. None of those guys were first team all nba when they moved east..
I'm not even sure I would be happy with it, but what if he chose Houston? Just saying, if he's joining a team to win a ring but doesn't want to be an obvious ring chaser, if he wants credit if the team does win, if he wants to play with proven vets, and if he wants it to be big news. What bigger news would be a team with Durant AND Lebron? People would be tuning in just to hate watch. He's too old? So is Durant. They can both retire at the end of their contracts. He would be another ball handler that can handle pressure, which we definitely need. We're deep enough where we wouldn't fall apart in his absence. He actually fits our roster being able to replace our weakest starter... VanVleet Thompson Durant James Sengun Smart Adams Smith Jr. Bogdanovic Eason Sheppard Thornton Davison Capela I mean...look at that bench and depth with just one addition. If you need to sign and trade, well, Capela is easy to include. I don't know. I just think that, other than a lack of respect for Houston, I don't understand why we aren't a top destination.
