Just got back from a 6-night stay at the hospital due to a Femoral Popliteal Bypass surgery in my right leg. I had an aneurysm behind my knee that they had to get around. Incision goes from my groin to my ankle. It went great but the recovery is pretty brutal. 6 to 8 weeks of rehab.

Anyone got any good ones on your resume?

Damn, dude. Best of luck with rehab.

Nothing I've had is "major" compared to stuff like that

Best of luck on recovery. I've been lucky, but I've spent a significant amount of time in hospital/recovery with my wife.

Best advice I can give? Don't half-ass the rehab.

Glad you are on the mend!!!

    Does penile reduction count??

Dr. calls and says I have good news and bad news. What would you like to here first. I said the good news.
He said your penis has grown 3 inches. I said that's great, what's the bad news.
    He said it's malignant.

I will be here all week.

    Got-dam son. Glad you’re alive.

Broke my arm arm-wrestling when I was 19. Closed spiral fracture of the humeral shaft. I have a permanent titanium plate in there now from the corrective surgery. Doesn’t affect me at all, metal detectors never detect it. Nasty scar from the top of my forearm through my bicep. It’s faded over the years but it was pretty red for a long time. Lots of women thought it was either hot or gross. Or both.

Broke my wrist in a car accident last year. First time having major surgery. The rehab was rough but I mostly have full function now. I do have some pain every now and then.

Just looked it up, that sounds like an awful surgery. Pray you recover soon.

I've had multiple bones fractures over the years (orbital bone fracture, broken hand twice, broken ribs, broken left forearm, broken tip of finger that had exposed bone and was hanging by a quarter inch of skin, stiches to eyebrow/forehead, etc.) from sports, active lifestyle, and martial arts but the worst injury I had was a broken ankle with a double radial fracture from judo gone wrong. Thank God I didn't need surgery because it was not a fun recovery even without it.

Damn, that's a lot! You probably have a higher tolerance for pain than I do..

This has been much more serious than I originally thought it would be. Didn't realize the incision would involve my entire right leg.

Shitty surgery for a drummer. I'm on the IL for my band, but I have a short gig (4 songs) on 7/31 that I'm hoping to be able to play so I'm using it as motivation for my rehab.

    Worst thing about any surgery:

    1. Catheter - pulling that thing out was the worst pain in my life and the only time I actually screamed in pain
    2. Post-op constipation - I felt like I gave natural child birth yesterday, if you know what I'm saying...

Man, catheter and huge poops? Yeah man, that sucks. Honestly, wishing nothing but the best. At least you still have your hearing after years of drumming, although your gigs may temporarily be harder to do.

Just a bunch of orthopedic surgeries. Shoulder, arms, fingers....the elbow was the worst but nothing major. No overnight stays.

Best of luck in your recovery.

Not major.... Had a benign cyst removed from inside my scrotum, it was just like a small BB gun bullet hanging out in there with it's larger cousins. I was put under anesthesia and a small incision in the scrotum to remove the cyst. Had to wear some special medical underwear for a day, really just cushioned and protected the boys. Went to work the next day.

Had the same thing, felt like a marble. One day, it pops like a huge zit, super gross. Then had to keep cleaning and protecting it for several days after, scar tissue took a couple weeks to clear up. Thankfully, no surgery, another thing poor OP experienced, not only does he have a huge gash going down his leg, he also had to have a sharp blade near the boys. No thank you.

I'm glad they caught your aneurysm before it ruptured. That's some scary stuff. I'm stressed just thinking about it.

Tonsils Remove in my mid 30s
Nearly died because the stitches broke.
Drove myself to the hospital spitting and throwing up blood the whole way.
I got to SW Memorial on Beechnut. . . . .They were BSing around until I threw up
in front of them. Then told me i needed to go downtown cause no one there could fix it
    [IT was like 2~3 am]
I said ok. . .. I'll Drive . . .. 2 steps and the Ole River was on the floor
Next memory was in the ambulance
Then after that was walking up in the hospital bed post op

    Good Times. . .. . Good Times
