You cant both say the team is so bad they lost to Gleague Lakers and then say Stone should have gone all in to win the championship. Are they bad or contenders? Make up your mind.
And would you be happy if they get knocked out in 1st round again? And by the way, the Lakers were missing $100M salary in Luka and Reaves who are miles better than FVV and Adams.
What is their direction now? Pandemic P and Tatum off achilles injury is even more mediocre than our roster
The team as currently constructed is not good enough, they need to improve, but our GM hasn't made any meaningful move to improve. It is easy to look at OKC or SAS's roster and say "we are not enough anyway" and give up. But the NBA champions this year is the NY Knicks. They don't have best roster on paper. Indiana also pushed OKC to 7 games the year prior. The key is to not give up and put yourself in the best position to win and to maximise your chance. Right now Stone is punting another season. He has punted every season since he's been the GM.
Sure, doesn’t really matter though. Those players will likely never be the same. The past is the past. What’s the front office’s plan moving forward?
They've been in the Finals twice and won a championship, and other teams being stupid doesn't justify Stone's inactivity.
I’m assuming Boston plans on rebuilding around Tatum while using PG to remain somewhat competitive. But I don’t really care. I care about what the Houston Rockets are doing. What’s our plan? Continue to trot out Dickerson (with his own Achilles issues) and hope Sengun and/or Amen can learn to not be complete bricklayers? Hope isn’t much of a plan.
Not only do the Rockets lack a direction, but the assemblage of “core pieces” is mediocre at best. I’m not sure that the perceived “best” of the young core, Amen, would fetch a bunch in trade. I’d probably make the Durant trade again, but in hindsight we were nowhere near contention even without the injuries.
So its ok for Boston to compete and rebuild and thats picking a direction but for the Rockets its not ok to do the same thing? Yes the Rockets are hoping Amen and Sengun not to be bricklayers. They are only 23 yrs old they still have a lot of time to learn how to shoot. Its the same thing as Boston hoping Tatum recovers from his season ending injury.
Rockets are getting 5 players that didnt play last season that isnt being inactive. 30% of the roster are different players how is that the GM being inactive again? Again you keep lying and if challenged you fall back to "but that doesnt make us a championship team" argument which again is totally different from what you are saying in your post.
Why do folks keep repeating this slanted view...? We were LITERALLY missing 47% of our payroll for all but 1 game of the playoffs (KD, FVV, SA)... and DFS was more wasted cap that has been eliminated... If u want to state "lakers B team" then stop being so disingenuous as to not state what our situation was... Sorry... but I hate how folks gotta paint an incomplete picture just to push their narrative of negativity!
This organization has a major expectations problem. A slow motion trainwreck IMO. I see people on this forum comparing us to OKC and SAS, as if the expectation is that those teams are our competition and we’re just a little behind them. Sorry, those teams are not our competition. If fans think that, they are in for a rude awakening. They are light years beyond us. We are 15th in title odds right now. The market believes our competition is Portland and broken down Golden State and Utah for squeezing into the 6th/7th/8th seed and the honor of getting boat raced in the first round.
Yeah, people have just gone way too far on the Internet nowadays. And it’s just a disgusting thing to see. We aren’t NYK, OKC, or SA. you might be able to put Philadelphia and Cleveland in their own little bracket if CLE it’s LeBron, but I don’t think we are too far outside of the second tier of contenders if healthy. people act like internal development isn’t a real thing. we might be relying on it too much, that’s debatable. But some people acting like it just isn’t real, is far more ignorant. Sengun/Adams Smith/Eason Durant/Bogdan Amen/Reed FVV/Smart if healthy, is winning closer to 60 games than 50.
