What I saw tonight was a league-wide warning: The Bruce is loose... will cook your goose, shove it up your caboose, leave your team in the noose and drop a duece on your team masseuse. So what should you do? File a complaint for abuse.
Seems short sighted. Why do you expect that after one game? Also Reed shot 39.4% from 3 this season on nearly 7 shots. Pretty good!
Great to see him already showing out in SL. It's Interesting, as he's done this at every level. If the translation even approaches this in the NBA, we've got a solid rotational player. Smart and strong...Great touch from all over.

Exactly my thoughts, as well. Bruce played heavy minutes and didn't seem to wear out. He seemed confident and his head seems to be one of his strengths. Elite dribling and ball security, good shooting form and efficiency was ok. Several good drives to the middle and kick out to open 3-ps shooters, but they missed often. Floater seems fluid and will probably be his strength. He is quicker than Fred Vanvleet, but still lost his man on the perimeter several times and big guys had to rotate to help. That is somewhat worrisome.
Thus far, I’ve seen three players in Summer League who, in my eyes, appear to have franchise player potential: AJ Dybansta, Caleb Wilson, and Bruce Thornton.
Hey @Aruba77, remember when you bemoaned us not being able to draft Acuff? Soon, moms everywhere will be saying, “No, you can’t have Bruce Thornton. We have Darius Acuff at home.” And those children will cry.
Being thick helps the one on one defense so the offense player can't just get separation by being more physical. However, being thick makes getting skinny and slithering around screens more difficult. FVV, for his part, has the girth to stand up one on one usually, but also get skinny to navigate most screens except from the better screens (i.e. moving) or incredibly quick guys. Thornton reminds me of Lowry on offense more than VanVleet, but without the defense of either regarding help, screen navigation. His being thick should allow him to guard up the defensive spectrum on switches (i.e. not 24 seconds, but 8 here and there).
Maybe he can be the next Donte Greene. *who scored 40 in 2008 summer league and was never heard from again
I think this is a decent low cost pickup. If he brings any amount of steady ball handling and shooting it will be great. But the euphoria is lolz. Remain calm.
Thornton not getting any minutes this season only if one of our guards get injured or traded...he's still behind JD Davison and Thornton will be in the G League which will be best for him in regards to development.
