Simply browsing Clutchfans makes me angry nowadays. Am I supposed to be happy with Marcus Smart being our only major addition? **** you Stone! I don’t want another 1st round exit! He is ruining my fandom!
Because of the emotional state of forum, people are forgetting that Marcus smart is a good player. While he is not a good shooter and there will be certain elements of the fit that are questionable he is a good addition.
So we will see our all defensive lineup at some point this season. PG - Smart SG - Thompson SF - Eason PF - Smith ..C - Adams Should make things interesting. Wish we could get a young big, athletic shot blocker on this team. Some 7'1 Camby type guy.
I've always wondered about the story behind this: On a rewatch, I'm wondering what the fan said and not as worried about the shove of a fan by a player.
Marcus Smart is a great pick-up for the team. I get it, the team has issues. But the move itself was good. Watching the LAL series, he was one of the good reasons why they did so great while being undermanned.
I dislike the direction we're going overall more than any one of these signings or trades in isolation. Marcus Smart would be a good addition to balance out a young roster, but we already have like five other thirty-something veterans slated to get playing time. In that context I would have rather us pursued one of the younger guards on the FA market or via trade.
Devin Carter, Marcus Sasser, and Jordan Miller are the best of the guys that fit Smart's contract and your wishes. For me, I'll take Smart for the next two years, and then use Smart's money on younger guys than Devin Carter, Marcus Sasser, and Jordan Miller in 2 years over Devin Carter, Marcus Sasser, or Jordan Miller. Gives the best of both worlds in that the Rockets get a win now guy, but also gets the Rockets younger after two seasons. Granted, I didn't like the Smart signing because it showed the Rockets were going to waste draft capital to get DFS off the books and save the owner money.
