Wood out-played Cam for 283 games, plus was 2 years younger.

    OPS (age)
    Cam
    '25 -- .671 .(22)
    '26 -- .670 .(23)

    Wood
    '24 -- .781 .(21)
    '25 -- .825 .(22)
    '26 -- .948 .(23)

Cam doesn't have to be 850 in year 2 (or ever considering the defense), but the fact he hasn't improved offensively this year is a tad concerning to say the least. You know it. We all know it.

His book isn't written yet... he's still aircraft carrying it.

So you are saying that Joe-Has-Got-To-Go has done a good job?

    Come on man …

Corrrea was last year’s all-in move to win the World Series.

Posters here were 100% behind the move. The move did not work out but both Crane and Brown should get credit for trying, no?

I liked the move and still do. My point was that it’s another underwater contract that was put together by Jim Crane and hasn’t worked out. So in the context of evaluating Dana Brown it’s another consideration that he’s not working with the same resources/freedom that other GMs of large/mid market teams have.

Sure - he's a different player on a totally different development track. Wood had more minor league games and years to develop than Cam has total MLB and MiLB games and years. I'm just not sure what Wood has to do with Cam - there's a lot of players with better early stats than Cam Smith.

Where did I say he wasn’t the better player? Offense drives this league. That’s why Jake Meyers is in AAA right now.

You can be straight ass defensively in this league and have a long career. If you can’t hit, doesn’t matter what you do defensively.

My point is one is headed for DH while the other could potentially play CF so I just don’t understand why we are comparing the two players. Cam doesn’t ever need to put up James Woods offensive numbers to be a 5+ WAR player.

But fine, yes they have some similar attributes.

The Wood-Smith correlation was already explained. You can't see the comparison because you're trolling.

You can't see how Cam and Wood are similar, but you can see GMs and managers getting fired for just thinking about lineup changes... yet can't name one, just ONE, after being asked.

You invent arguments depending on who you're talking to. You're not a fair man, and it's been your repeated behavior for years.

    Some attributes are unique.

    230 pounders stealing bases.

I think the outfield is pretty bad too.

Cam has stolen 17 bases in 226 games…

Josh Naylors fat ass stole 30 last season and 17 already this season lol

Honestly, if you want a real player to compare Cam to it should be Julio.

    Not sure what's funny.

If Naylor can steal bases, then he shares the same unique attribute with Cam and Wood.

"230 guys who can steal bases"

Furthermore, it has been repeated on this board for years the Astros don't attempt enough steals. You have read it and know it... yet you still used Naylor for a rebuttal. That's excatly what I mean by being disengenuous. You already know Cam has CF speed... smh.

Invalid comparison. Julio played too much minor league.

    Sincerely,
    Major Troll
