    Ranked by who?
They were sacked just as much.
Nico missed 5 games and was still a pro bowler. Mixon had 1000 yds and 11 TDs, Jones had 1100 and 5 TDs

You make things up to defend poor play.

You are such a little cry baby.
Your hyperbolic takes aren’t based in fact. Then you get upset when called out on it.

    Grow up

Pretty sure maye managed 7 points against denver and a solid 0 before garbage time against seattle. Considering the pats had 3 long TD drives against the texans, don't think the texans can win if they score 0-1 td's in the game. I get you hate cj and love maye, which is totally fine, everyone has their favorites and the ones they hate.

But he didn’t lose the game for them.

Don’t put words in my mouth. I don’t hate CJ. I don’t like his abilities as a QB. I think he’s a good kid.
Maye is just a much more talented prospect. Bigger, much faster, much more athletic, stronger arm, more accurate and has the family pedigree/athletic background.

You don't think a qb putting up ZERO points in a playoff game, as maye did against seattle before garbage time, is losing the game? I'm not saying maye isn't more talented, he's certainly a better prospect but let's not make up reality, what happened is what happened. He was a horror show against denver and an even bigger horror show against seattle. He absolutely, unequivocally sucked.

Edit - i had a typo earlier, he had 10 against denver not 7 i flipped the score, so he had 10 points in those 2 games.

Giving the ball away a million times is what lost the game for the Texans.
The defense bailed him out one game.
Just not turning the ball over that much and let the defense win the game.

But the defense gave up 3 long td drives. The texans were not winning the game putting up 10 points. It wasn’t like it was a 10-7 loss. Defense wasn’t winning that game.

That Superbowl ring is all that matters.

Darnold is a starter on a playoff team twice and won one ring

QBs with Darnold s track record that win SB's are very rare.

Think this way, Sam D was picked up by the Seahawks, and their top-level defense did enough to get home field and they got a ring. Sam Did not play superman but was very efficient. They had a good running game, understatement. Now, just imagine for a moment. And play this scenario out. CJ was on another team and with his "latest" performance, got let go. Texans pick him up, now with the likely best defense in the league, with a much-improved running game and solid O line. CJ does not rush things, plays to his abilities and, and, OK, you fill in the rest.

I am all for giving him a chance. He just has to be a game manager which is probably realistically what he is.
If his contract was the same AAV as Darnold I wouldn’t complain

I was comparing Darnold with the Vikings to last year with stroud?? Like I did in my post you responded too.
Stroud in ‘23 was definitely better than Darnold at Vikings what are you talking about?

    You’re not serious are you?

And we were comparing similar situations. Vikings gave up a ton of sacks the same year Stroud was regressing (2nd year)

    2024 Darnold: 4300 yards, 35 tds, 12 INTs, 102 rating in 17 games sacked 48 times
    2023 CJ Stroud: 4100 yards 23 tds, 5 INTs, 100 rating in 15 games sacked 38 times

pretty dang close. But then you add that it was CJ’s rookie year, rookie HC, rookie OC, with the 27th ranked OLine, his number 1 running back was Devon Singletary with 800 yards and 15 games of Nico for 1200 yards. Then Darnold had the Super Bowl winning OC as their head coach in his second year who would also win Coach of the year, the 16th ranked OLine, Aaron Jones running the ball for 1100 yards, and 17 games of Justin freaking Jefferson for 1500 yards.

these are all just literal stats. Facts. And they still had pretty similar seasons statistically. Goodness you can’t take any thing against your narrative. Multiple ppl agree CJ sucked the last 2 games, but you get so forced in your own opinion that anything different is an attack. And you have to just dig your heels in and just shout nonsense that only favors your argument. You pick apart one word out of peoples comments, tear ppl down, all to just be right all the time.. it has to be exhausting.

    Those seasons aren’t close.

You can put whatever qualifiers you want on them, they aren’t close

They are not close all because of the 35 TD vs. 23 TD, really that is it. 12 INT to 5 INT is excellent. 200 yards short but played 2 games less. Now you think CJ will not get 200 yards in 2 games? Right. We all get it. You like the kid, just not as a QB for this team. Nothing on this planet will change your mind, not even if a CJ lead team gets to the SB and even win it. Then it will be because of the defense, the better running game, you will have your qualifiers for why it wasn't a CJ lead team.

Look, I was a 49er fan and was there for their 5 Super Bowl WINS. Know all about Montana/Young thing. Was here when this Texans team started. 25 years later, still NOTHING. I don't know about you, I would like to get a win for this city and I hope CJ will get it done, as manager QB, as a passer, as anything but just get it done.
