It was the lowest point in the franchise’s history, and he popped in for a quick peak during that time. I’m not surprised that was his perception. I think we all agree. But every franchise has been at a low point that someone dipping their toe in could say bad things about. Players who have spent the majority of their careers here (or significant time) always come back to support the city and the franchise. ALWAYS!
I never heard of Dennis Schraeder playing for the Rockets?!?!?!? Granted I didn't watch many games when the Rockets sucked. If he played for one of the worse team in the NBA, he must of sucked.
The part they don't show during that clip is the next sentence in the interview where he says "but they're good now". Glad we got structure and a good GM now. He also says KD is the type of player like Lebron and Kyrie who fits in anywhere. Uh oh. Best part is N3on not knowing he even played for the Rockets. lol. It's at the beginning of this interview (cued up):
we are a great organization. Not so much since Tilman bought the team. Not so much since Stone took over. And especially not so much during the Silas era. Not hating on the org but those first 3yrs trying to build around KPJ were horrible. Only one person in charge of those decisions.
to be fair, he was hired to tank. Him letting players do whatever they wanted was part of why he was brought in.
There was no Finals game at all in the past 30+ years. Most of playoffs experience was 1st round exit.
No he wasn’t hired to tank. Westbrook endorsed Silas and they were trying to keep Harden. Even after Harden wanted out, they brought in Wood and Oladipo to try to stay competitive but Silas just failed miserably.
Don't worry Schroeder, we are heading for another 1st round exit and maybe that'll convince people that Stone isn't the answer.
You can still have structure and GMing while tanking. Players weren't talking crap about OKC or SA during their tanking seasons. And they were still developing young players even if the overall teams were sucking. The Rockets just arent a very tight organization since the Fertitta era started.
Ime is significantly better than Silas. We didn't start improving until Ime showed up. That being said, Ime isn't the long term answer either.
