I actually want them to fail miserably this season so that we can guarantee a good draft pick and get rid of this delusional overconfident brat in Stone.
57 games? With fewer tanking teams to bank wins against? That's unlikely The downside risk - contingent on the most heavily played 38 year old with surgically reconstructed foot/ankle in history - is way higher. The "FVV back" thing is carrying too much, as is Stephen Half Season Adams to reconstruct the double big bit that teams were dealing with by January. I understand FVV organizing presence but lest we forget he was not the player he was in Toronto even before the injury. A .500 season is absolutely on the table. I am wondering if the Rockets are actually pulling a soft tank this season to put together a big trade package
We been cooked since Hakeem retired. It’s been what could have been, what ifs, and disappointment after disappointment
Look, if healthy, we're probably fine. Not likely to have a chance beating San Antonio or OKC, but, then again, everyone thought the same thing about New York's chances against either too. Everyone thought Brunson wasn't a real star and that Kat had always shrunk in big moments and lacked that extra gear that everyone wished he had. Turns out, everyone was wrong. So, admit you don't have any clue who the champion is going to be next year, root for who you want to root for, and just relax and hope for a breakout season and good health.
The young Rockets have gone through many disappointments. Hoping these disappointments will motivate them to work harder to overcome. It's time for this coaching staff to put them in better positions. 2nd round or bust!
There are the same amount of wins and losses every season. I suppose you could say the sample size of wins and losses only deviates a bit and the ranges are mostly 53 wins to 35 wins. Instead of say 57-31.
Couple points. Most importantly, I expect them to have injuries given the roster's injury history and age. And even aside from injuries, all the older dudes will be declining. I also think the chemistry will continue to decline. And a some point, Ime's play-super-hard-during-the-regular-season schtick will wear off w the young dudes. And the book is out on how to beat us. Obviously things will change dramatically if Amen and Sengun get outside shots. I see your super optimistic posts everywhere, all I can say is I hope you're right and if you are I'll think you're a genius.
hate to say it, but the Jazz young core looks pretty good I’d much rather have what they have than what we’re working with it probably won’t be very long before they surpass us…maybe as early as the 2027-28 season
Yeah, they executed very well and got lucky. Knew they had solid young talent but not the clear cornerstone, tanked in the right draft and possibly got it. We had a similar path but instead we traded for a 36 year old KD and aren't mitigating that decision by trading him, just leaning into it harder. Great stuff.
