THIS is how you lose. Platner should have dropped out already. But this guy has no morals, so it's not unexpected that he hasn't.
He dropped out 30 minutes ago lol. Dropping out and calling it all false is certainly a choice. This means you're either a liar or a coward. I am absolutely ready to hear out the accuser and weigh the evidence (not that it matters now or that we will see/hear any more about this), but all the same, the timing of this feels extremely ****ing fishy. Platner is a troubled, imperfect person. I am not personally invested in him or his race at all. But I'm willing to bet even somebody as flawed as him has more integrity in a single nugget of his **** than Donald Trump does in his entire body, so miss me with the morality lectures.
Democratic activists and political strategists Daniel Moraff and Leanne Fan handpicked Graham Platner to run for the U.S. Senate in Maine and managed his background check process. Together with their adviser Morris Katz, they conducted a limited three-day background check that ultimately failed to uncover several of Platner's past controversies.
Dem have tolerated some huge red flags in politician here, but there is nothing remotely comparable to the MAGA Republican Party and Trump. I want to keep it that way. The last thing we need is a left-wing version of MAGA. This is what I stated a month ago: https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/democrats-this-is-how-you-win.327377/page-15#post-16192770
Graham Platner said he’s suspending his campaign not because of the allegations, but because of structures that have been taken away from him by those in power he needs to cut the bullsh*t already people were willing to overlook a bunch of things to win this Senate seat, but you can’t expect many non-republicans to overlook credible rape allegations this is on you, not the “Democrat elites” or the “establishment”
there needs to be a discussion on why there was so little vetting done on him to start out They were that desperate for the “blue collar” chud aesthetic?
The timing is suspicious, but it's too damn believable when you factor in his moral failings that we know are true.
