Can’t believe some of you were arguing with me a couple weeks ago that we didn’t need starting pitching and that we had enough guys on this staff capable of starting playoff games.
He’s got a mediocre fastball and has terrible control because he relies way too heavily on spin. Yeah, because his breaking ball is so good, he’s going to have great games when he does have a feel for it and is consistently putting it where he wants. Way too often he’s going to have games like this where he’s walking way too many and then eventually hangs one. You can’t live that way as a starting pitcher in the MLB and be more than a BOR pitcher though.
Y’all don’t seem to understand you can’t keep pulling your starter in the 3rd inning every single night. The game was most likely lost after he gave up the 3 run homer. You’ve got to try to get as much length as you can out of him.
I'm to the point if the Astros don't have enough pitching after all the moves and all the injury returners, then they already lost. Trades? Brown can't be trusted to evaluate talent. Franchise still living off Luhnow. Fire Dana
I got flamed in here for saying Spencer was getting lucky. Hate to say I told you to anyone, but his stuff isn’t great for not having any control.
