I bet you plenty of people said the same thing about Sam Darnold.. but sure, go grab another rookie in the draft and push this entire thing back 3 more years while the defense gets old and too expensive, all to have the same thing happen in 3 years and whoever you picked shows he can’t bring you a Lombardi in 3 years as only a handful of QBs EVER have. At least we saw a great year out of stroud, most teams in the nfl haven’t even gotten that and they still paid their QBs. But your opinion is somehow more right than everyone else. when he leads us to a AFCC or SB and wins or loses, I hope the extra 10-15mil a year we have to shell out was worth your expert foresight and negativity.
Best laid plans will not survive contact with the enemy. They have a say so too. Let's just hope the offense and defense will be good and will adjust to the adjustments the other team tries to make. For those who thing NO MATTER WHAT, CJ will not bring a championship to this city. I sure hope you are wrong and will stand up and admit it later. You may be right but sure would make a great story for this city to finally get one, and with this quarterback.
Literally every team in the league does this. QBs that have done much less than CJ have gotten paid because mahomes’s and Brady’s don’t grow on trees. You wanna keep throwing spaghetti at the wall until we find a mahomes then fine, just know that there is a better chance of CJ regaining a form he has ALREADY SHOWN than finding the next Mahomes during this defensive prime. You yourself are like 1/5 on qb selections so not sure why you keep expecting the next one we draft to be better. hell, if drake maye has 1 more atrocious playoff game then i expect you to be done with him as well since that will make 2 each. But I expect he gets more leeway since the fact that he only played well against the worst schedule in history yet we only hear about how CJ only played his 4 good games against bad competition.
CJ has played better than Darnold did before getting the contract. Darnold was a complete cast off, not a 3 time playoff team and playoff win under 25yr old on his rookie contract.
What game was atrocious from Maye? None as bad as CJ. Yall need to stop comparing Stroud to Maye. Maye is an elite athlete and prospect with an MVP caliber season already. Lets hope CJ can reach Goff levels and be happy with that.
To be fair Maye was absolutely atrocious against both denver and seattle (had a little garbage time against seattle if you care about that, i obviously wouldn't) and for the regular season did not throw a single td against a good team (granted that's only 2 outa their 17 games).
Careful. If you swap mayes name with CJ then that’s enough for some posters to be done with him. But it’s impossible to have a convo with these guys that just call you Homer and low intelligence despite the fact that you agree with them on some points, it has to be all their points or you’re wrong. And none of their views are ever wrong.
