I'd like to think so, too...but Pepi hasn't exactly inspired any confidence and Belgium still have some talented players. W/o Balogun, this was a toss up. With, we're favorites (which, in and of itself, feels strange to say out loud).
"Article 27 can intervene and suspende a sentence however Article 66.4 states clearly that must be adhered to in this instance and that the player MUST miss the next game." FIFA might have corrupted their own rules in order to please the congenial peace prize duo, so playing Balogun might lead to a disqualification. And yes, they just suspended Nepal for government interference. Regarding Klopp: Can't think of anyone better to bring us back on track, but nothing official yet. Red Bull is pushing for a compensation fee that the DFB cannot pay by their own statutes. But they will find a way, Klopp said multiple times that coaching the German squad is a lifelong dream and that chance might not open up again any time soon (Joachim Löw was in charge for 15 years), so the embarrassing loss to Paraguay will possibly turn into a blessing in disguise because Nagelsmann would've stayed otherwise.
Don't think I have seen a worse Brazilian squad in all those years. They got lucky to even get that far. Congratulations to Norway, dark horse for a reason.
i only knew it was brazil playing because of the jersey. this is not the brazil teams i have watched before.
This turned out to be untrue for the last 20 minutes of the game where Thor was allowed to be Thor. Brazil doesn't feel like the super power they once were in futbol.
Norway played a disciplined game -- their extreme patience and ball control game plan frustrated the Brazilians. And Norway were playing for a 1-0 win, expecting Haaland to break through at least once. He did so twice. What a freak of nature -- brains + braun + quickness + size. Brazil had no one to match his quality.
