I am interested to see Thornton plays. in his limited time last year I thought there were some stretches where Crawford looked OK. otherwise it just does not really get me super excited. To be honest, I would not mind Shepherd playing the first two or three games. put in about 30 minutes at point Guard.
Oscar... Cluff?? You want the guy who attempted 7 threes in his 3 year college career to take 7 attempts per game? Really?
Interested in watching Thorton, Newton, Crawford, Copeland, and Casarin. Nix will probably not pass them the ball though. International guards are always interesting. 6 FT 6, can shoot, pretty strong upper frame.
I'm hoping Thornton and Copeland get serious minutes and get to face some pressure on defense. Copeland is the one who intrigues me the most. It seems like with Thornton, you kind of know what he's going to be at his best. With Copeland, I'm not sure. Hell, I'm just glad we went and got some dudes who have bodies built for the game and not twigs that we have to wait 5 years to pack pounds on or learn how to play basketball. That being said, they both could end up being scrubs.
I hear you. Copeland is definitely intriguing. 6 ft 5 pg. If he could become someone like Shaun Livingston after the surgery, I would be happy.
You lost all credibility when you said Daishen Nix. Quit drinking the kool-aid and realize this is one pathetic team we are putting out there this year.
Did you not read the ". . ." ahead of his name? I've been making fun of the whole #LotteryTalent crap for years. Don't tell me about my credibility. I've built up a ****-ton of credibility on this BBS over the past 25+ years. GTFOH.
To be excited about any of those six scrubs is ludicrous. With Stone’s awful track record as GM, do you really trust his “genius” in trading and giving away next year’s Sacramento 2nd rounder (i.e, we now have one left until 2031) to pick a player that certainly would have been there at 39 and likely at 53? The lawyer (along with Ime’s hand picked players) have ruined what was once a young and upcoming team. Let’s not put lipstick on this pig.
Who said I was EXCITED about this summer league team? I'm just saying how the first 5 guys are at least worth watching. NIx was thrown in (half-jokingly) as the only other guy on that team who I think will ever get another cup of coffee in the NBA. Also, I have it on very good authority that at least one team was taking Thornton before he got to 39 and that it was necessary to trade up for him. I have very little issue with that trade if the Rockets truly believe in Thornton. Maybe he's no good. But I can live with that. Dude, if you want to just be negative about everything with this team, then fine. But no need to drag down your fellow CF posters here for expressing even a passing interest in the summer league team.
Some folks are optimists as fans they want to view things through hopeful lenses. Others are realists, or pessimists - they view things through a different lense. We are all Rox fans though. I am with Bima here, probably no one breaks out, but maybe, there is a slim chance we find a gem, and that is at least making the games watchable. DD
Oh, I'm a realist. I definitely don't like every move this team makes. For instance, I really didn't like the cost to dump DFS or the strategy behind it. However, I try not to rain on everyone else's parade. Sure, I'll explain why some pie-in-the-sky trade ideas won't work under the salary cap or are otherwise unrealistic. But I try not to temper others' enthusiasm for OUR team.
