What's the analytic for Dawgs? Cuz i guarantee you Brown got Mastiff/Rottweiler mix and Sengun a Frenchie
They a big fan of that contract and not having to reup him for a couple of years while pretending they care about winning.
I get that. But the way I see it, every international great, past or present, plays for their NT. And I think most of them have benefited from international play. Obviously not Yao but I believe his situation was different. Everyone expects Alpi to play for Turkey but if there are serious injury concerns, I don't believe that they will force him to play every tournament.
It is just natural to play for your national team. I don’t think it has anything to do with being a hero. The problem is nba season is simply too long, not to leave room for anything else. Same thing is happening with European soccer as the market grew significantly the last 20 years. They increased the number of games to increase revenue and now the schedule is way too full. It would be great if nba could reduce regular season to something like 62 games where every team plays twice in a year.
And to think Alpi will be much better when he hits his prime in the next few years. He has a similar year by year age comparison to Jokic. Not saying he will hit Jokic level but we do not know how good he will be when he hits his prime. And to think he is doing what he does with absolutely terrible offensive coaching his entire time here. It makes zero sense we have so many who want to trade him for some aging star.
If Sengun is traded it should be for really good young players and draft picks. I would’ve pulled the trigger for a top 3 pick in last year’s draft. I’m not sure there is a trade still out there that would be worth it to trade Sengun. The 27 and 28 draft classes don’t look to be that great, so it would have to be a concoction of really high level young players that fit our roster better to pull the trigger. I think Sengun would be a perennial all-star player with a competent offensive head coach. It’s going to be hard for Sengun to up his trade value in Ime’s offense.
I agree. In fact, I don’t think anyone else is traded this year. Hopefully, the result will be Stone and Ime’s demise and a roster overhaul next year.
Considering that he did not finish well, what exactly does finishing talent measure? he is very talented but put in very tough spots?
When he wasn't covering the key and then sprinting out to a wide open guard on the perimeter because the perimeter defenders sh*t the bed on yet another possession, he was outstanding defending on the perimeter. So much so, he actually shut smaller players down when they iso'd and tried to beat him one on one, when he was out there already and not sprinting to them so they could fake and go past him. People see those few plays and just ignore (or, the more likely case I've found on Clutchfans, actually have no idea what they're watching on the defensive end) because Jabari was abused so many more times than Sengun on the perimeter, yet people here claim Jabari is a great defender. Funny how they get a perceived perception of a player and run with it, to be damned with what is actually true.
I’d hate a reduced season for the NBA. It would be another month of nothing but baseball, which is alright when the Astros are balling, but pretty boring when not. I’m not blaming Sengun for playing for his country, but it definitely has an effect on his play for the Rockets and, for that reason, wish he would stop. The Astros actually forbade Altuve and Framber from playing in the WBC after how it affected the team the last time they did. Not sure, whether Sengun’s contract would allow the same.
