Amigo, the ref’s call was HORRIBLE. You cannot take away the host team’s most impactful player based on referee Rafael Claus’ mistake. Plus, FIFA are trying to grow the game in America — can’t have the sour taste in the fans’ mouth. GOOD DAY

I find it hilarious people are upset about this. Watch a replay Was Balogun in position first? Yes Did Bosnian player run in to him from side prior to ball getting there? Yes Did Balogun do this intentionally based on replay? No Did Messi do a similar tackle with eyes on the player after getting beat and get not even a yellow card? Yes Did FIFA, review the play with slow motion on Var to determine verdict which is not what it’s intended for? Yes Did Ronaldo(Portugal) receive a similar verdict pre WC? Yes He never deserved a red in the first place. People can cry about rules etc but the US got hosed and now the final verdict is showing that FIFA is acting in a consistent manner. The crying from outside of the US is at a historic hypocritical manner on social media right now? There was no Messi or Ronaldo outrage previous to this foul. Why now? People terrified that the US may actually do something despite it being their 4th most popular sport. If the US wasn’t good, nobody would care. politely STFU if you don’t think this is fair.

I truly hope there were no outside forces influencing this reversal. Still the initial call was horrible. If I recall correctly there was not even a foul called immediately. Might be wrong.
