I'm not saying the Texans should give CJ long enough to ruin the season if he's a flaming train wreck. If that happens, they'll have to make an early change. My post was purely about fan expectations.
Oh lord, i thought you were being serious and not just trolling. I totally misread that, my bad. Ya lets play mills!
CJ had his best OL and receiving corp in his rookie year, 2023. Thereafter both rooms were diminished and so did CJ's performance. I think the OL will be much better as well as the WR and TE rooms. I also hope that CJ has overcome his psychotic 25' playoff issues. If so, I think we will win the AFC.
I think it is all dependent on the running game. All the off-season moves and draft picks points to smash mouth football. If the run game performs as intended, the play action pass game will excel and Stroud will do a much better job of protecting the football. We have to win first down.
One way or the other, I just want the excuses for his poor performances to end. This season he needs to prove he can be a quality QB or he needs to be done here.
Call it whatever you want. Excuse, reason, cause and effect. All depends on the narrative you hold to. This team needs a win and get to the Bowl. End of story. I will predict he is one of the reasons for it. Barring injuries, this team is build to go. No more concussions please. More motion please.
Right, doesn't matter what you call it, none of it matters. Either we get results, or it'll be time for a change. CJ needs to be one of the reasons the team wins because he's the ONLY reason the Texans weren't in the Super Bowl last season.
Bullshit. Keep telling yourself that lie. Texans were not going to the Super Bowl with that Oline and no run game.
First off, you're wrong, secondly, you clearly didn't watch the playoffs. The ONLY thing that held back the Texans was some of the worst performances by a QB in NFL playoff history. If he was even halfway decent, the Texans cruise into the Super Bowl...hell it's possible Davis Mills could have done it, that's how bad CJ Stroud was. Do yourself a favor, watch the games before coming here an embarrassing yourself.
10 yards rushing on 11 attempts...1st half. No Nico, and No Schultz. Who is the mythical QB...Not name Brady or Mahomes that would have led the Texans to the SuperBowl?
When you have a QB that is a ****ing joke, teams stack the box and you can't run on them. Teams couldn't have done that to Brady or Mahomes. All you needed was someone to not be a turnover waiting to happen, and CJ wasn't up to the task. There's probably 30+ QB's in the NFL that could have taken the Texans to the Super Bowl last season given the matchups and one of the best defenses in NFL history, and that includes several backups. Face it kid, your son CJ was just awful and there's no excuse for it.
CJ's QB rating in the regular season was 17th. Unfortunately, he fell apart in the postseason. CJ can be a quality QB in this league, but he's going to have to be solid in the playoffs when it truly counts.
He's gotta work on getting the ball out on time and accurately, that was a big issue last year. Here often passed up open receivers on the first window and tried to wait till the second not realizing pressure was coming. He's still young so hopefully he can learn from those mistakes because we really need him to not suck
We had a lot of problems against CJ. The biggest problem was CJ was AWFUL. The other problem was missing players such as our starting RT, TE, and WR. Another problem was ZERO running game. But CJ was the biggest problem of them all. We could have beat New England if CJ hadn't been so horrible.
That might be the issue. Whatever it was, let's hope it's resolved. If CJ can be solid in the playoffs we can win it all.
