Whats your regular season prediction for next year? (POLL)

Discussion in 'Houston Rockets: Game Action & Roster Moves' started by kjayp, Jul 4, 2026 at 11:49 AM.

?

What will our regular season record be next year?

  1. Top 3 in the west - prob behind SAS and OKC

  2. 50+ win season and a playoff team

  3. around a .500 team who sneaks into the play-in

  4. Below .500 and misses the post season altogether

So many predictions of 50+ wins and some even as far as getting to the 2nd round.

I just can't see that with the currently constructed roster.

They didn't address the shooting problem and are gonna rely on Adams, FVV, Durant and Smart all on the wrong side of 30 and all with a history of severe injury and then there's Tari who hasn't missed fewer than 22 games in the last 3 years.

Maybe if Amen turns into prime MJ and Shepard into prime Curry ....

Someone on the sunshine and rainbows crew tell me what I'm missing?

If Dickerson stays we're going to be the Phoenix Suns the last year he was there.

I think we're a playoff team who get bumped in the 1st round, maybe by a play in team. If Fred is actually completely done though then we may be the play in team which would really suck tbh.

45-50 range with brutal playoff performance. Once the other team plans for us, ime factor kicks in

A good but limited team. Win total somewhere in the mid to upper 40s, good enough for the play-in and possibly as high as 5th place. Unless there are significant developments, a transition season laying the groundwork for a soft reset and more hope going forward.

Why oh why don’t we do the soft re-set now. It would be so much more entertaining and would actually set us on the path to attain at the least the fan’s goal of a championship. I’m not sure that’s the Rockets’ FO goal, except by accident.

Yeah I wish we would. If KD, Clint and FVV are here all year I just can't get excited about this season, not with Ime's rotations. Otherwise, my interest is in the young core and any newcomer providing hope for the future.

Mid-to-high 40s. Boring as hell, almost unwatchable.

You can't see how a 52 win team with an injury to the most vulnerable position can win 52 the following season?
I wouldn't say 50 is guaranteed (probably close to 50-50), but it isn't a sunshine and rainbows prediction either.

Yeah with health and effort we will most assuredly get around 50 wins again. We are a team that is built for regular season wins. Having a pg that Ime trusts with the ball would’ve changed the regular season outcome last year. We wouldn’t have had all those blown 4th quarter leads by Durant the PG. It really doesn’t matter unless your goal is a playoff spot. If it’s playoff success, this season is lost before it’s started. Even Vegas has us as the 16th most likely champion, and there are fans on this board that are ok with that.

I think it depends on FVV’s health. If he can come back and be any where near what he was his first season with us, then it’s a 50 win team, just based on the fact we’d actually have a point guard this season.

We won 52 with literally no point guard on the team last year. I don’t think the team gets worse by adding an above average position of desperate need.

That being said, I still think it’s a first/second round exit. I want nothing more than to be wrong about that and us make a deep run, but I just don’t trust our health, and I still don’t like the combination of amen and Sengun on the floor together, even if I actually really like both players.

This is highly possible depending on the return for KD or if we find a way to sign Rui Hachamura as his replacement. Unfortunately, we would be even more likely to make the semi-finals just by getting rid of Ime.
